The Deep South

Entering in the NBA Season, a few questions lingered in the Southwest division. Is Chris Paul happy? Can he perform at the same level of a few years ago when the Hornets were one game away from going to the NBA Finals? Mentioning that series, San Antonio, a team almost all critics claim this is the year the age will turn sour. Wine eventually goes bad, Tim Duncan legs can’t keep going and his presence is no longer feared. So the question is, can this team …

Spurs Pull Off Upset to Advance to 2nd Round While Phoenix Moves On Behind Hot Shooting

Spurs 97, Mavericks 87 (Spurs win series 4-2)
“The Spurs are a pitcher’s duel.” – Kenny “The Jet” Smith

Wow, what a perfect way to sum up the San Antonio Spurs. Well, they had their ace, Tim Duncan, on the mound tonight as they closed out the series. Duncan had 17 points and 10 rebounds in an exciting win for the Spurs as they got to finish off their rivals at home. Timmy D played great D and stayed fundamentally sound after not playing well the last two games in the series.

The …

Ginobili Makes Statement as Spurs Top Mavs & Millsap Brings the Noise

Spurs 94, Mavericks 90 (Spurs lead 2-1)
I’d like to begin this wrap-up by saying I was given this series to cover as a joke, mostly because I always complained on our podcasts for having to intro a Spurs game, and how I have nothing more to say than Tim Duncan is really good. Well, my mindset has changed completely after watching Game 3 of this series, because this was one of the best games I’ve seen all year and the Spurs are a heck of a lot more than just …

Spurs Spurn the Mavs

Spurs 102, Mavs 88 (Series tied 1-1)

The Spurs jumped out to an early 11-3 lead in this game and never lost the lead, although it did get down to one point in the first half.  Coach Pop put an interesting starting lineup on the floor, starting George Hill (who was questionable) over Parker but it worked out and they both played 30+ minutes.  The Spurs took a 12 point lead into half time and the Mavs looked as if they were going to get run out of their own gym …

Blowout City: Seriously, There Were A Lot

What is the point of doing wrap ups tonight? Half of the teams didn’t even show up. Hey, somebody’s gotta do it.
Well here we go…
Cleveland 124, New York 93
Well, this game was over during warm ups, seriously, New York, why even show up. You give up 38 points in the first and then follow that up with 36 in the 2nd. Stellar work gentlemen, you make me proud to support such a solid group of guys. You allow everybody that gets into the game to …
