Conspiracy Theory: Kobe Faked Ankle Injury

Let me first start off by saying this is a COMPLETE 100% stretch of the imagination here and I, in no way, believe Kobe faked his ankle injury but the point of my post will focus on that and other great players injuries this year.
Last week while talking with Shooter’s Dad he briefly mentioned how he heard someone on the radio say Kobe faked his ankle injury to see how the Lakers would perform without the best player in the NBA.  How did they respond you ask?  Well they went …

Magic Prove Their Dominance, Mavs Hold Off Lakers, Jazz Stay Continue Winning Ways

Magic 110, Rockets 92
Just when everyone started hating on the Magic saying they will slip they have stayed atop the Eastern Conference for most of the season as the #2 seed and after tonight they are now 20 games over the .500 mark.  In the first 20 second of the game it looked to be a long night for Magic superstar Dwight Howard.  He picked up 2 fouls in those 20 seconds (one offensive, one defensive) and was forced to the bench.  Apparantly that angered Superman because Howard wound up …

Kobe is BACK, Thunder Let One Slip Away, Philly Stinks (But Won)

Lakers 99, Grizzlies 98
He’ssss baaaack.  Kobe Bryant returned after missing the last 5 Laker games.  The team went 4-1 without him but definitely needed him back and it’s safe to say if they didn’t have Kobe they wouldn’t have won this game, considering he made a game tying 3-pointer with under a minute left and then hit the game winner with 4 seconds left.  Kobe is unreal, out of his mind and if you watch the end of this game that is why he is hands down the best player …

NBA, Where Clutch Happens

This new NBA commercial aired during All-Star Weekend and I immediately fell in love with it.  This short 30 second commercial has superstars talking about hitting game winning shots in auto-tune.  I’m not going to lie, I actually went on my Mac and looped the song and listen to it when I go to the gym to get me pumped up.  For those who have not seen it yet you can watch it here.

Jazz Stay Hott, Lakers Win Without Kobe, Roy Makes Return

Jazz 104, Rockets 95
The Jazz continue to impress out of the gates for the last third of the season.  They didn’t waver over the 4 day break and they came out shooting 50% from the field on the Rockets’ home floor.  Deron Williams, Skills Challenge runner up, dished out 15 assists while Paul  Millsap came off the bench to drop 20 and snag 12 boards (he must have read my underachieving post).
The Rockets continue to slide and are now 27-25.  Maybe once they trade McGrady and get some new pieces …

Mavs Win Easy, Jazz Continue to Roll, Bobcats Almost Pull Off Upset

Mavs 110, Warriors 101
Despite this being a 9 point game in the end the Mavs didn’t really struggle.  They shot 53% for the game, made 19-21 free throws and had 32 team assists on 43 made shots (including 16 assists from JASON KIDD).  The Warriors are now on a 7 game losing streak and I strongly believe even if Monta Ellis drops 90 they will still lose.
This was almost the case tonight, Ellis dropped 46.  He missed 5 free throws which would have put him over the 50 point mark …

Nets Win?!?!?; Grizz Top Pistons; Heat Continue to Skid Vs. Raptors

Nets 103, Clippers 87
A congratulations is in order for the New Jersey Nets!  It only took 27 days for the Nets to win their first game in 2010 and I am sure Shooter could not be happier at this moment.  They were able to overcome not playing with Devin Harris and Courtney Lee due to injuries.  In Harris’ place, Keyon “The Combo Guard” Dooling stepped up with 18 points and 8 assists.  Kris Humphries (this is not a typo) abused the Clippers shooting 10-13, finishing with 25 points and 8 …
