Hawks 125, Nuggets 100
The Atlanta Hawks rebounded nicely after Friday’s loss but handed Denver their second consecutive loss tonight and as a matter of fact it was a blowout. Carmelo Anthony struggled again from the floor going 7-21 and as usual did great from the line going 15-18. The Nuggets were just 2-10 from 3 while the Hawks were 8-19 and shot 51.7% overall from the field. Josh Smith was the man for the Hawks tonight; he scored 22 points, had 9 rebounds, dished out 7 assists and amazingly had 6 blocks …

Knicks 117, Hornets 111
The scrappy Knicks were able to hold off Chris Paul’s valiant attempt to steal a win at MSG on Monday night. Paul had 32 points and 13 assists but wasn’t enough to beat a Knicks who were starving for their first win of the season.
David Lee had 28 points to lead the Knicks on a night where they had three 20 point scorers. Al Harrington,24, and Larry Hughes, 20 were the other two, leading an all around balanced attack for the Knicks.

In the most famous arena in sports, the New York faithful were treated with a high scoring, record setting, fourth quarter lead disappearing, overtime thriller for the Knicks home opener. The Knicks were being dominated for the entire game by a balanced night from the Sixers, led by Andre Iguodala’s 32 points,11 boards, and 7 dimes, until the Knicks outscored Philly 41-26 in the fourth quarter to relinquish a 17-point lead and send the game into overtime.
