The Houston Rockets have agreed in principle to acquire Kevin Martin from the Sacramento Kings. Kenny Thomas, Hilton Armstrong, and Sergio Rodriguez will join Martin in Houston. In return, Tracy McGrady will land either in Sacramento or New York.

New Look Wiz Pull Away from T-Wolves; Spurs Win Despite Duncan’s Struggles; Rose Flourishes in the Garden; and More!

Wizards 108, Timberwolves 99
Gilbert Arenas: suspended indefinitely for his “prank.”  Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood: traded to the Mavericks for Josh Howard, Gooden (Who they already traded), and James Singleton.  Antawn Jamison: traded in a three way deal to the Cavs for Big Z and Al Thornton (Clippers).
Four of the five projected starters this season for the Washington Wizards are now no longer with the team, but that was not a problem tonight for the new look WizKidz.  Andray Blatche, a last second starter after the Jamison trade, responded by …

No Pierce No Problem for C’s; Durant’s 30 Sink Hornets; Knicks Halt 3 Game Losing Streak

Celtics 107, Heat 102
Rajon Rondo continued to lead this Celtics team after hinting at locker room rifts helping the C’s to a 107 to 102 win at home against the Heat.  Paul Pierce set out this game with an injured left foot and will probably miss Friday’s game at well.  Rondo finished with 22 points, 14 assists, and 6 rebounds in the win.  He still struggled from the free throw line hitting just eight of fourteen attempts.  Ray Allen also played well for the C’s leading the team with 23 …

Knicks Squeak by in Philly; Hawks Fly By Wiz; Boston Embarrasses Nets

Knicks 93, 76ers 92
Well I guess whatever hotel the Knicks stayed at last night was not haunted.  David Lee’s layup off a pass by Chris Duhon, with 11 seconds left gave the Knicks a 93 to 92 lead.  The Sixers had one last chance to win when Allen Iverson passed out to Rodney Carney for an open trey that was no good.  David Lee finished with 24 points and 9 rebounds in the win and Al Harrington had 17 points and 7 rebounds off the bench for the New York …

Nate, Refs Leads Knicks’ Surge Past Bobcats

Knicks 97, Bobcats 93
After a dismal 1-9 start, the New York Knicks are finally starting to show they got their act together (Nets – take notice).
If you were like me and love basketball so much that you spent tonight watching this game, you were in a for a treat. Down by 10 after a rough start to the third quarter, Nate-the-Great mounted 8 of his 10 points in a matter of minutes. After a pullup three to end the third, followed by a dunk and another three to start …

An Upgrade & a Win: The Story of Two NBA Fans

It all started as a normal trip to a New Jersey Nets game.
The night was planned as usual: get to the IZOD Center right before tip-off, choose some upgraded upper level seats instead of my normal crappy season tickets, watch the Nets trail slightly at the half, watch the Nets get embarrassed in the third quarter, watch the Nets lose in a blowout, and drive home.
Turns out JB and I were in for a treat that we could not have expected.
After sitting in some exciting NJ Turnpike traffic, JB and …
