Boston Takes Care of Bucks; Wallace Leads Bobcats; Hornets and Raptors Both Win

Celtics 98, Bucks 89
The Celtics (17-4) come up clutch in the fourth quarter to outlast the Bucks (9-11) 98-89.  With the score tied at 71 going into the fourth, the Celtics were led by Rajon Rondo who scored all eleven of his points in the final period.  He also dished out 13 assists, was one rebound short of a triple-double, and recorded 5 steals.  Kevin Garnett led Boston with 25 points.  Kendrick Perkins had a solid game scoring 15 points on 7-8 shooting.
Perkin’s counterpart, Andrew Bogut, played well dropping 25 …

No Paul? No Problem; Hornets Take Care of Suns

Hornets 110, Suns 103
Rest up, Chris Paul. Darren Collison’s got your back.
The rookie out of UCLA knocked down two clutch shots to lead the Hornets over the Suns at the New Orleans Arena. Despite only shooting 4-15 from the floor, Collison nailed a long 3 point shot and a finger roll as time was running out to preserve the lead.
Both teams had hot shooters from 3. Jared Dudley was 5-6 from beyond the arc, and Peja looked like the old version of himself, going 7-11. Dudley finished with 17 points …

Nola Jerseys Coming in February

The New Orleans Hornets have revealed their new Mardi Gras jerseys that they will be wearing for 4 games in February.  If I told you the jerseys say Nola on the front, are two-toned and one of those colors is purple you may never want to see these jerseys EVER be worn… but these are HOTT!
These new jerseys actually have Mardi Gras beads on the side of the jersey that zig-zag along the front and back.  That’s pretty sick.  If you remember, last year’s All-Star jerseys were two-toned with gold/white …

Holy Blowouts! Warriors and Hornets Cruise, Makes for Bad TV

It was a night to forget for the Timberwolves and Clippers. It was also a night for me to forget I was watching NBA TV.
<begin rant>
Both teams were poorly outscored by halftime, to the point where NBA TV would rather show their trbl tv interview of John Schuhmann’s power rankings. To my disgust, I couldn’t decide which was worse – Brent Barry telling John Schuhmann he should work for TMZ, or Schuhmann’s defense in putting the Sun’s at #1 in his interview – and I paraphrase – “If Celtics, Lakers, …

Nuggets Continue to Roll; Lakers Win in OT (Again); Paul’s 39 Propels Hornets

Nuggets 122, Nets 94
The Denver Nuggets (5-0) struggled in the first half against the awful New Jersey Nets (0-5).  Down one point at half, Denver turned up the heat and blew away the Nets.  The good news for the Nets was that they scored 26 points in the 3rd quarter, unlike last game where they scored 7.  The bad news, they gave up 44!  Melo had another off night shooting 8-24, scoring 22 points.  Nene, Keyon Martin, and Ty Lawson all picked up the slack scoring 16 or more.
Chris Douglas-Roberts …

Melo Leads Nuggets to Victory; Scola and Rockets Bounce Back Against Warriors

Nuggets 114 , Jazz 105
Without the suspended JR Smith; Renaldo Balkman, Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups took the game into their own hands. Melo torched the Jazz (0-1) for 30 points while Chauncey added 25 for the Denver Nuggets (1-0).  Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer had double-doubles for the Jazz.  The Nuggets picked up the intensity in the 4th quarter outscoring the Jazz 32-25 to pull away.
JB’s Hustle Hero of the Game: Ty Lawson.  Without JR Smith, Ty Lawson played more than he thought he would.  In 26 minutes, Lawson …
