LeBron Wins Battle of the Nike Puppets, Nuggets Take Over in Second Half

Cavs 93, Lakers 87
In what was considered round 2 of the most exciting matchup of the year, the LeBron and Kobe show was one for the ages.
Too bad the game came down to Pau Gasol. Gasol, not having the best night of the season, was blocked by Anderson Varejao to prevent the go-ahead basket with 50 seconds left. LeBron got hold of the ball, and drove court to court to garner a lead they wouldn’t lose again. In addition, Gasol missed both free throws that would have tied the …

Raptors Extinct in Cleveland; Heat Burn Pacers

Cavs 108, Raptors 100
Ok so the title makes this game seem like a blow out, but it was just a 2-point game at halftime and the Raptors were down just 8 after three quarters in Cleveland.  Neither team played particularly well in the 4th quarter, but LeBron James play particularly well throughout the entire game.  James was just one rebound shy of another triple-double.  This game featured what I like to call “The Mo Williams Factor” which is really just The Ref’s obsession with Mo Williams and the fact that if …

Varejao Hustles Cavs to Win, Big 3 Minus 2 = Win in BOS, Bulls are Streakin!

Cavaliers 94, Nets 86
In a Saturday matinee, the Cavs wore their white/home jerseys despite playing in New Jersey. Oh, and the crowd was rooting for the Cavs, despite playing in New Jersey.
It’s normally a trend for ‘Nets’ crowds to favor the road superstars because of the lack of exiting play from the home team, but every time LeBron and Co. did anything exciting, the crowd ‘ooo’d and aw’d’ like they were at the circus.
The only thing that can be resembled from a circus is Anderson Varejao and his Sideshow Bob …

JR Smith’s 41 Lead the Nuggets; Thunder Cool Down Suns; Cavs Beat Pesky Kings in OT

Nuggets 124, Hawks 104
When you see a Denver Nuggets box score and you see that someone scored 40 points, the first person that pops into your head is Carmelo Anthony.  Not tonight.  Anthony played well scoring 24 points, but tonight it was the JR Smith show.  Smith scored 41 points on 15-25 shooting.  He also hit 10 three pointers in tonight’s contest.  Ty Lawson had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists starting in place of injured Chauncey Billups.
Jamal Crawford led the Hawks with 24 points off the bench.  Al …

Cavs Take Care of Nets; Knicks Win Streak Stopped at 4; Heat Cool Down Raptors

Cavs 99, Nets 89
In Cleveland, the Cavaliers (18-7) handled business against the New Jersey Nets (2-23).  LeBron led all scorers with 23 points.  He also had 7 assists and 8 rebounds.  The Shaqtus and Big Z combined for 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks in the winning effort.
The Nets were led by Devin Harris, who was ejected for a flagrant two foul on Jamario Moon, and Brook Lopez.  Each dropped 22 points. Rafer Alston had 20 points off the bench for the Nets, who played without Keyon Dooling and …

Cavs Snap Skid, Bulls Eek Out Rare Win, Sixers Bench Can’t Provide

Cavaliers 104, TrailBlazers 99
After two ugly road losses, the Cavs came back home to Cleveland ready to get back on the winning track. Going into the game, I don’t care who they were playing, I just figured they would come away with a win. Turns out they were playing a pretty good Blazers team, and turns out they came away with a pretty good win.
LeBron James led all scorers with 33 points, but he wasn’t the outstanding player in this game. Anderson Varejao, as much as I like to get …
