Thunder Hold on; Melo’s 32 Enough to Beat the Hornets; LeBron Returns with a Win; Celtics Win

Nuggets 102, Hornets 95
Down two going into the fourth, Carmelo Anthony saved his best for last.  Melo scored twelve of his thirty two points in the final frame.   Melo and Chauncey Billups helped break an 86 to 86 tie with six minutes to go outscoring the Hornets by nine in that stretch.  Billups ended up with 27 points and Nene added 17 points and 12 rebounds.  As much as I want to talk about the Nuggets winning this game, I cannot help but notice that both New Orleans Hornets …

Balkman is Back!; Bron Bron Handles Nets; Grizz Continue to Win on the Road

Nuggets 119, Thunder 90
Forget that the Nuggets held the surging Thunder to twelve points in the 3rd quarter.  Forget Carmelo Anthony’s 30 points, Nene’s 20 points, and J.R. Swish’s 18 points off the bench.  Forget the fact that the Nuggets kept Kevin Durant under the 20 points mark for only the sixth time all season.  All that matters is that Renaldo Balkman (my favorite player) is finally back from his back injury.  In this 30 point blow out, my dude put up 2 points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3FG), 2 rebounds, …

Melo Drives Nuggets Past Cavs in OT, Allen Pushes C’s Past LA

In spite of probably THE craziest day we’ve had on NBAToday, there was some basketball played on Thursday. TNT did not disappoint, with two high-flying matchups that featured what many thought to be the two best teams in each conference (arguably).
So, instead of going through the normal wrapup, lets play “Five Things You Should Takeaway From Game”.
Nuggets 118, Cavs 116 (OT)
1. Carmelo is a top 3 player in the NBA. Maybe top 2. I’ll grudgingly argue that Kobe is the best player (which pains me). But as far as this …

NBA, Where Clutch Happens

This new NBA commercial aired during All-Star Weekend and I immediately fell in love with it.  This short 30 second commercial has superstars talking about hitting game winning shots in auto-tune.  I’m not going to lie, I actually went on my Mac and looped the song and listen to it when I go to the gym to get me pumped up.  For those who have not seen it yet you can watch it here.

Wade Leads East to Victory with MVP Performance in Front of Record Setting Crowd

East 141, West 139

It’s amazing how much defense can make a game better.
For three quarters, the game was filled with lack less D, nice alley oops, a three by Dwight Howard, which actually looked pretty smooth I might add, but never in those first 32 minutes I was truly into the game. Shooter and I watched it together and we were both enthralled by a few plays, but again never were truly into the game.
However, there were a few things that did catch my interest before …

Houston, We Have a Problem, Carmelo Leads in Thrilling Game, and Nets are an Embarrassment to the NBA

Chicago 104, Houston 97
One team is on the rise as the other is on the decline.

Houston (24-19) has not played their best ball in January. The Rockets are 4-6 after starting 20-13, and a loss at home to the Chicago Bulls (20-22) is a clear cut sign of a troubled team. However, let’s not take away from the Chicago Bulls. After Vinny Del Negro was publicly announced to be bamboozled, the Bulls have been great and Derrick Rose is playing like we thought he would. Rose dropped 20 points, but …

Despite 44 From Bosh Raptors Lose; Thunder and Hornets Come Out Victorious Late

Bucks 113, Raptors 107
Despite 44 points and 12 rebounds from Chris Bosh, the Raptors still lost a close game.  This game basically proves that the Raptors, despite being in the playoff mix, are NOT a good team.  These guys just don’t play defense and that includes Bosh.  When you give up over 100 points per game, you usually don’t win.  The Bucks were led by 27 and 12 from Andrew Bogut who carried the team with Delfino who had 22.  The Bucks committed just 7 turnovers all game and shot …
