On Sunday night, the Nets became the third team in history to start an NBA season 0-17. They are running out of excuses now, as players continue to return from injury. With a loss on Wednesday at home to the Mavericks, the Nets would own the NBA record of worst winless starts ever on their own.

Hours after firing head coach Lawrence Frank, the New Jersey Nets tied the record for the worst start to a NBA season at 0-17 Sunday night, against the Lakers.
Kobe Bryant’s 30 points led L.A. to a 106-87 win last night at the Staples Center. Kobe actually out scored the entire Nets team in the first quarter 13-12, in a game where the Nets never really had a chance.
