NBAtoday.net Monthly Awards – December

Happy New Year! As before, let’s take a look back at the month in review…
Eastern Conference Player of the Month – Dwight Howard. This guy is a defensive machine. Not only is he leading the league in rebounds and blocks, check this: over the December, he averaged 14.4 rebounds and 3.5 blocks a game. His defensive play has carried the Magic to a solid 9-4 record in the month of December. I might get some flack for this pick , but remember what your high school coach taught you – …

An Upgrade & a Win: The Story of Two NBA Fans

It all started as a normal trip to a New Jersey Nets game.
The night was planned as usual: get to the IZOD Center right before tip-off, choose some upgraded upper level seats instead of my normal crappy season tickets, watch the Nets trail slightly at the half, watch the Nets get embarrassed in the third quarter, watch the Nets lose in a blowout, and drive home.
Turns out JB and I were in for a treat that we could not have expected.
After sitting in some exciting NJ Turnpike traffic, JB and …

Suns 116, Celtics 98
No Paul Pierce, no Kevin Garnett, big problem.  The Celtics, without two of their big three, were no match for the run and gun Suns.  Amare Stoudemire had a big first half scoring 18 of his 26 points while grabbing 7 rebounds in the process.  Channing Frye provided the second half spark scoring 26 points, as well shooting a red hot six of ten from downtown, and grabbing ten rebounds.  Steve Nash had a quiet night scoring 11 points and dishing out 8 dimes.
Eddie House led the …

Our Trip to the IZOD Center

Last Monday Shooter, Basher, and myself (JB) went to see the Oklahoma City Thunder square off against the New Jersey Nets.  We had a blast and Kevin Durant put on a show.  Here is a video I made from that night.  Enjoy.
