I hope everyone had a fantastic New Year. Go Huge! Great games this Saturday, a few upsets, fantastic in-conference matchups, and primetime players stepping up in big time moments. All adding up to great basketball and prelude to future talent in the NBA. John Wall, Damion James, and Luke Harangody improved their stock with solid performances while helping their respected teams to wins. I can’t wait until March Madness comes around. That is when we will see who really has what it takes…
Also, look out for “The Future is Ready” …
Hornets 99, Rockets 95
The Hornets have pulled to within 1 game of .500 after a rocky start, a fired head coach and a few tough injuries. Overall in this game, the Rockets shot a better percentage and made more 3′s but in the end lost the game. New Orleans won the turnover battle by 9 but it was still close throughout. Both teams centers proved to be pretty beast on the night with 13 rebounds by Hayes and 16 for Okafor.
Clown of the game: Peja Stojakovic. Why does this man …
I am now a witness. The question is: a witness to what exactly…?
On Saturday, JB and I spent another day at the IZOD Center, this time to see the Nets play the Cleveland Cavaliers, or as I like to call them, the Cleveland LeBrons. This was the first time I’ve seen LeBron James play in person, so I figured this would be the perfect time to express my ‘frustrations’ with LeBron, from an on-the-court standpoint.
The category of this post is labeled ‘hrbl hoops’, but there isn’t much that is hrbl …
Cavaliers 94, Nets 86
In a Saturday matinee, the Cavs wore their white/home jerseys despite playing in New Jersey. Oh, and the crowd was rooting for the Cavs, despite playing in New Jersey.
It’s normally a trend for ‘Nets’ crowds to favor the road superstars because of the lack of exiting play from the home team, but every time LeBron and Co. did anything exciting, the crowd ‘ooo’d and aw’d’ like they were at the circus.
The only thing that can be resembled from a circus is Anderson Varejao and his Sideshow Bob …
There has been much speculation leading up to this NBA offseason, with buzz about this being the best free agent class ever. This class, headlined by Shooter and Basher’s favorite player, LeBron James, has stirred up many questions and comments all year. Well, it doesn’t look like that’s going to stop anytime soon.
Photos of a new color-way of LeBron’s Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low’s have appeared online leading to mass speculation about LeBron James, and the New York Knicks. That’s because these shoes are Knick Blue, and Knick Orange. …
Knicks 112, Hawks 108
My mom had family and friends over for dinner today, so I had a crowd of Knicks “fans” (they’re coming out of the shadows these days) over to watch this game with me. This game can be summed up in two words: Nate Robinson. Just a week ago, Nate was looking to be dealt, as he hadn’t played a game in 30 days leading up to this game. The Knicks were 9-6 in December so no one was really complaining. Well, now that we’re in January, Mike …
