So we all know that come July, all of the free agent talk will be on LeBron, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Joe Johnson. As amazing as those players are, there are plenty of high value guys available in this years’ class.
Luis Scola (Forward/Houston Rockets): Scola is the type of guy that any team would want. He’s an undersized power forward who filled in, in a big way with the absence of Yao Ming this past season. He averaged 16.2 ppg and 8.6rpg. He’s 30 years old, but has only been …
Shout out to the Ref, who did a great job in analyzing the draft as it happened. But now that the dust has settled, it’s my turn to jump into the melee with some (possibly outrageous) thoughts on this years’ draft.
1. What in God’s name were the Portland TrailBlazers Thinking? Who fires their General Manager an hour before the draft??Removing a GM an hour before the draft is like punching a pregnant lady in the gut right before she’s about to give birth. In both scenarios, the future is screwed. …
I don’t know what is bigger news for tonight: The Ref making his illustrious return or the NBA Draft. I’ll let my followers decide upon themselves on that one. Anyway, this year’s draft is interesting to say the least. If there is one word that could paint a perfect picture for tonight is potential. Most of these players entering in the realm of the big times may have jumped the gun a bit, but no doubt have the God-given ability to make a difference a few …
The following mock draft is a collaboration from the writers of NBAtoday.net. By no means are we real scouts, although some of us think we are (The Basher) and some of us wish we were (the entire staff). Our mock draft is based on what we think teams and at times I will look at another mock draft and throw a guy in there who I know nothing about just because I can.
2010 NBA Mock Draft:
1. Wizards – John Wall, 6-4, 196 lb, PG, Kentucky – They’d be stupid not …
Salmons Opts Out:
The Bucks got some good news and some bad news today. First the bad news; John Salmons has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Bucks. With the Bucks Salmons was a completely different player, HE was the one who led the Bucks to the playoffs. There was a resurgance in Milwaukee as soon as Salmons came to the team. He averaged nearly 20 ppg for the Bucks in just 30 games.
Bucks Acquire Maggette:
The Bucks have quickly replaced Salmons by acquiring Corey …
Manute Bol, the 7’7” Sudanese shot-blocking specialist, passed away yesterday due to complications from a severe kidney disease and a painful skin condition. Bol was unique in that he is one of the tallest players ever to wear a uniform. He played for the Philadelphia, Golden State, Miami, and Washington where he had career averages of 2.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks. He led the NBA in blocks during the ’85-’86 season, and the ’88-’89 season.
Aside from his efforts on the basketball court, Bol was devoted to the humanitarian cause …
Lakers 83, Celtics 79 (Lakers win series & championship 4-3)
Call it an ugly game, call it a sloppy game, call it whatever you want – I call it a classic.
The Los Angeles Lakers were able to overcome a fourth quarter deficit while trailing for most of the game to pick up the 2010 NBA championship, the 16th title in franchise history, with an 83-79 victory over the Boston Celtics. The Lakers did exactly what Phil Jackson said was supposed to happen after Game 5 – they went home and won …
