Boom Shaka Laka!!! NBA Jam Returns!

Back in 1993, the now legendary NBA Jam series debuted at your local arcade and devoured my weekly allowance with reckless abandon.
Gamers around the world could finally challenge friends, mothers, brothers, sisters, fathers, co-workers, grandparents, and even their creepy uncles as the likes of Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing, and Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith, to a high-flying, fire starting, jam fest.
I can remember stepping up against my neighbors as Chuck (Charles Barkley) and Kevin Johnson; Unstoppable.  Playing against random foes on the boardwalk I’d roll in with Scottie Pippen …

NBAtoday.net Monthly Awards – March

Tough to think a month went by already, but it did. March Madness came and went out with a few surprises.
I think one of the biggest surprises this month was that for the first time in a while, the 8 teams from the West have all but been locked in. Lakers, Nuggets, Mavs, Thunder, Jazz, Blazers, Spurs, Suns. Guessing the order, however, is about as close as trying to guess how many Big East teams would get in if the tournament field was expanded to 96 (I say 14, Seton …

Boston Survives The King’s Wrath

Boston 117, Cleveland 113
Boston is known this year to squander big leads in big games.
Sunday was no different.
With solid play on both sides of the court from the home team, Boston was firing on all cylinders against the NBA’s best record. The C’s built a 22 point lead in the second half while containing LeBron James for the most of the game. Emphasis on most. In the 4th, ‘The King’ took over with a 19 point final quarter to bring his team up one with 2 minutes left to play. …

What to Watch for: Apr 5 – 11

With only about a half dozen games to go on the schedule for most teams, you’ll notice in this week’s What to Watch for that many matchups are possible first round previews. But the West is the craziest as teams 2 through 8 are only four games apart.

Monday
No games on Monday to pay respects to the college game. But you know what, you should definitely stop at MLBtoday.net to catch up on baseball. And if you are watching the men’s college championship, then root for Butler. Frig Duke.
Tuesday
Hawks @ Bobcats …

Pippen and Malone: Next Stop HOF

Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer with the official announcement coming on Monday.  Pippen and Malone are well beyond deserving of their Hall of Fame induction.  Scottie Pippen has always lived in Michael Jordan’s shadow and fortunately for him he won the same 6 NBA Championships that Jordan did.  Karl Malone will definitely go down as one of the top 50 NBA players of all-time and he NEVER won a championship, but he is 2nd all-time in points scored.
Like I said, Scottie …

Heat Continue Winning, Bucks Lose the Big One, and the Thunder Clinch

Miami 97, Minnesota 84
As all of us talk about players Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and even Kevin Durant, we all forget about a guy that is winning by himself, Dwyane Wade.
Wade follows his 43 point performance with a 39 point one to lead the Heat against the Timberwolves. This is the eighth straight victory for Miami, which just like the weather, are red hot. Honestly, there was a point about 3 weeks ago where I didn’t think they were going to make the playoffs, but Wade would not …
