Contracts, Contracts, Contracts… Championship?

Contracts are a big part of the NBA and its players.  Everyone wants to make money and support their family, but sometimes it takes more than money to become a winner in this game.  In the West, a lot of teams are coming on strong at the end of the season including Dallas, Pheonix and Utah.
So that being said, will this be the year that the Suns and Jazz play in the Western Conference Finals (pending the seeding it set up for that matchup)?  Do you think I’m crazy for asking that …

Suns Clinch Playoff Spot; Bucks Take Care of Clippers; Durant Leads Thunder Over Sixers

Suns 111, Bulls 105
Steve Nash’s double-double helped the Suns defeat the Chicago Bulls and clinch a playoff spot.  Nash finished with 22 points and 10 assists.  Jason Richardson led the Suns with 27 points and Amare Stoudemire finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds.  The Bulls were led by both Flip Murray and Derrick Rose, who each finished with 23 points.  With tonight’s win the Suns stay ahead of the Denver Nuggets for the 4th seed and if they stay hot they have the chance to ultimately end up with …

Bag-Gate Comes to an End
After an ugly argument in a game last week, Nets CEO Brett Yormark and the ‘paper-bag fans’ had a planned lunch meeting on Tuesday afternoon to bury the hatchet (and to play the public relations game). This has to have been the most bizarre lunch EVER. It was sponsored by McDonalds, so they ate hamburgers, fries and salads – from …

“Those Jordans are DIRTY, son!”

Ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you, the Air Jordan 1 Retro “KO’s.” Most people like Air Jordan 1′s, but the catch with the KO’s is they come as if they are a pair of old Jays you have had hidden in a box in the back of your garage. Both colorways feature a yellowing to give the shoe a dirty and worn look. I don’t know how I feel about this, but I do think it’s a cool concept.
Will I be buying these?
No.
The college G definitely would have scooped …

Nets Avoid (Bad) History, Raptors Cling to 8th Spot, & Mavericks Outlast Nuggets

Nets 90, Spurs 84
What more can I say? As a Sixers’ fan, I was secretly hoping the Nets stayed at 9 wins, so that it would make the Sixers’ franchise look less bad. As a friend, I was truly hoping they got the ten wins, because getting 9 wins in any major professional sport in today’s day and age is straight up embarrassing. Not that ten wins is much better…I’m just sayin. Going further, Basher was able to acquire about 3894 tickets to this game, so a good group went. Losers, …

Power Rankings: Week 22

Power Rankings: Week 22
Alright, the playoff picture for both conferences is almost set. With the exception of a few teams, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, and Utah mostly, the playoff portrait is finished. Teams like Memphis, Houston, and now definitely New Orleans are out. They all fought hard, had to deal with injuries, off the court shenanigans, and played in a tougher conference. If all three of those teams were in the East, they would be playing in late April.
I almost feel like my power rankings …

What to Watch for: Mar 29 – Apr 4

Watch the NBA this week. I promise you won’t be disappointed. And if you choose to take my advice and watch some NBA action, here are a list of games to watch!
Monday
Raptors @ Bobcats – As lame as this matchup seems, both of these teams are in the playoffs as of now in the East. This game should be won by the Bobcats, but I’d like to see the Raptors put up a fight in Charlotte.
Nuggets @ Mavericks – If someone was able to upset the Lakers in the first …
