Lakers 102, Celtics 89 (Lakers lead 1-0)
Going into Game 1 of the 2010 NBA Finals, we knew a couple of things: 1) There would be plenty of celebrities in the Staples Center crowd, and 2) Kobe & Co. was on a mission and the Celtics had to be prepared for a fight.
The Lakers held the lead for nearly the entire game thanks to a few disparities in style of play. Los Angeles was living in the paint. They not only scored a ton of buckets in the paint all game, …
Some may call it a rematch. Some may call it the greatest rivalry in basketball. I call it a pretty incredible June Jubilation matchup.
No, I don’t mean the Celtics playing the Lakers is incredible. I actually am focusing on the Boston Celtics, who EVERYONE wrote off to be too old and washed up, actually making the NBA Finals. Just think about it. In January, the basketball world saw the Celtics as a team that could not even run up and down the court, let alone stay healthy. Boy, what a …
June Jubilation is FINALLY HERE!!!
The conference finals have come and gone and we are left with the two most storied franchises in the history of the NBA. Not only that, but this may be the most intense rivalry in the history of the NBA too. Celtics/Lakers – I just like the ring of that – and so does the NBA, I’m sure. The NBA Finals is the showcase of basketball and this series should not let down. NBAtoday.net cannot wait any longer. Let’s GOOO!
Once again, NBAtoday.net has compiled predictions. We …
This edition of News and Rumors has a large focus on an NBA player’s complaint and his wish to leave to town. And as always, there are some nice tidbits.
Be Careful What You Wish For
If you were an NBA player, making tens of millions of dollars and you averaged a mere 11.3 points per game, would you demand a trade?
Ask Hedo Turkoglu, because apparently this is not a big deal to him.
Last summer, Hedo accepted a contract offer from the Portland Trailblazers. Then, he chose to back of that deal …
Lakers 111, Suns 103 (Lakers win series 4-2)
I had quite a busy Friday and Saturday, so I fell asleep for most of this game. When I woke up, the Lakers had the game in hand early in the fourth quarter. I considered changing the channel, but then a barrage of Goran Dragic brought the Suns right back into this game, with the Suns getting within five points of the Lakers. At this point, with the crowd behind their backs, it looked like the Suns were going to come back and …
Boston 96, Orlando 84 (Celtics win series 4-2)
Can everybody calm down now? All of this nonsense about the momentum being changed, give me a break.
Boston went into this game with every Celtics’ fan looking for the best heart medicine at the nearest pharmaceutical and every media press stating how interesting this series has gotten. All hogwash after tonight. Slash that, this series was never interesting. Everybody should be watching the Suns/Lakers series anyway. Boston had this series in hand from the get go. The last two victories from Orlando were …
Lakers 103, Suns 101 (Lakers lead 3-2)
Going into this game, my thought process was:
“If the Suns lose this game, then they will not win this series. If the Lakers lose this game, they can still win this series.”
In other words, in my opinion, the Suns had to have this game. The Lakers, to me, are more than strong enough to come back from a 3-2 deficit. Fortunately the Lakers won’t have to worry about that as Ron Artest’s layup with time expiring puts the Lakers in kill position. This was …
