There is legitimacy in New York basketball again. I can’t even hide the thesis. I am just so excited for this season. It has been almost a decade since New York fans can be excited about their New York Knickerbockers. The media is buying into this team and people actually care. It’s only been a week and a half into the season and the change is so immense. I wish basketball cities like Boston, Chicago, LA, and the entire state of Texas could see …
Sure the summer didn’t pan out like I had hoped for the LeBron-less Nets but it wasn’t a complete failure. The Nets drafted well back in June to set themselves up with a bright future in a young PF Derrick Favors (or use him as trade bait), they brought in some free agents who were cheap and can score at will and also brought along a head coach with one of the highest winning percentages of all time (in his short head coaching tenure). If you read my article about …
With all of the free agent signings and trades this offseason, the hype is gone out of control with the upcoming Thunder, healthy San Antonio, supercharged Miami, and the defending champion, Lakers. All of the attention is paid to Lebron James, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony, and Allen Iverson so ticket prices goes up and arenas sell out, but we are forgetting a major importance in this process. How about the coaches? Where is their love? Without them, these gents would be lost. A …
If you didn’t hear the news that dropped this week, NBA Elite (Live) is being delayed indefinitely. NBA Elite was supposed to revolutionize the way gamers played basketball by allowing a “true skill” component to it’s play style. Instead when the demo dropped last week we saw YouTube videos pop up showing players getting glitched. The most infamous video found Andrew Bynum of the Los Angeles Lakers stuck standing in the middle of the floor looking like Jesus. Other videos showed a point guard skating around the floor dribbling without …
With Team USA winning the FIBA World Championship for the first time since 1994, a congratulation is in order. The team looked shaky in the beginning with different personalities and playing styles clashing, but game after game, you can see improvement. Then, they started to look like a team. It came together in the Brazil game. Tiego Splitter was tearing apart the interior D, and all seemed to be lost when turnover after turnover occurred. After all of these intangibles working against America’s club, every …
There are reports coming out of Washington that Gilbert Arenas “faked” an injury going into last night’s preseason game. Arenas told his coaches that the knee that has cost him to miss a lot of the past three years was bothering him. After the game Arenas admitted that he “faked” the injury in order to give Nick Young a chance to start. Gilbert, are you kidding me!! The Wizards did not give you that enormous contract for you to bring guns into the locker room and make up “fake” injuries …
First Quarter: USA 25, Russia 25
With 7 minutes left in the first quarter, Team USA holds a two point advantage. Kevin Durant starts off strong with five or Team USA’s eight points. Sasha Kaun (sorry Shooter and all other Kansas fans) might be the worst center in the FIBA championships. He already has missed two wide open lay-ups.
6:30 left in the first. Sergey Bykov hits his second three of the half giving Russia a 9-8 lead. Team USA battles right back with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook drawing fouls. A …
