Phoenix 102, Washington 90
The Suns continue their hot streak with every starter getting into double figures. Jason Richardson continued his hot hand by draining 22 points to lead all scorers, while Amare Stoudemire, Grant Hill, and Channing Frye combined for 48 points and 35 rebounds (all obtaining double-doubles). Steve Nash distributed 17 dimes to get everybody involved. Gilbert Arenas did what he could do to help the Wizards by scoring 20 points, pulling down 6 boards and dishing out 6 assists, but had trouble finding the hole by shooting 7-22. …
Chris Douglas-Roberts of the New Jersey Nets was recently diagnosed with the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus. CDR is out indefinitely with the virus and hasn’t played since Wednesday night vs. the Nuggets. On CDR’s twitter he said he was getting the chills during the game but thought nothing of it since they were playing basketball. CDR’s Swine Flu is no longer contagious but he isn’t with the team and everyone is taking a Tamiflu pill for the next 10 days as a precaution. The Nets now only have 8 eligable players …
Clippers 113, Grizzlies 110
It was the matchup we have all been waiting for since the start of the season. NOT. The Clippers and Grizzlies squared off in LA in a matchup of two of the poorest teams the Western Conference has to offer. Although, it wasn’t nearly as bad of a game as I am advertising – it was actually really good!
The score was tied going into the fourth quarter but the Clip Show took advantage of what was given to them down the stretch. Despite only one field goal, …
Hawks 125, Nuggets 100
The Atlanta Hawks rebounded nicely after Friday’s loss but handed Denver their second consecutive loss tonight and as a matter of fact it was a blowout. Carmelo Anthony struggled again from the floor going 7-21 and as usual did great from the line going 15-18. The Nuggets were just 2-10 from 3 while the Hawks were 8-19 and shot 51.7% overall from the field. Josh Smith was the man for the Hawks tonight; he scored 22 points, had 9 rebounds, dished out 7 assists and amazingly had 6 blocks …
On Saturday night, Memphis Grizzlies back up point guard Allen Iverson decided to take a personal day and fly to his home in Atlanta to rethink his life. Iverson took off after a Saturday morning walkthrough following the teams 114-98 loss to the LA Lakers.
Due to the guard’s lack of playing time, Iverson is sick of not playing solid minutes or starting. He simply cannot fathom being a role player and is constantly arguing with Coach Lionel Hollins, making it very uncomfortable for the rest of the team. The Grizzlies …
In no particular order I have compiled a list of my top 10 potential breakout players for this 2009-2010 season. Some players listed have averaged over 10 ppg for their first few years in the league; some may have only been in the league for a year but now they are being more heavily relied on by their coach and teamates and in my opinion will “breakout”. See who made the list below…
1. Trevor Ariza (Rockets-SG) - Trevor Ariza is the best shooter on my top 10 but was only utilized …
