Bucks Dominate Fourth and Take Series Lead 3-2

Bucks 91, Hawks 87 (Bucks lead 3-2)
In a game that saw the Hawks up by as many as nine points with four minutes to play, it was Milwaukee’s strong finish that helped them grab a 3-2 series lead.  The Bucks mounted a 14-0 run in the final four minutes.  This biggest play of the game came when Kurt Thomas drew an offensive on Joe Johnson, which was his sixth of the game.  With Johnson out, the Hawks could not buy a basket, execpt for Al Horford (25 points and 11 …

Butler, Mavericks Force Game 6 and Lakers Dismantle the ThunderKids

Mavericks 103, Spurs 81 (Spurs lead 3-2)

I don’t like calling contests “statement games”, but Caron Butler told the NBA tonight that Dallas is not ready to end the season.
His career-high 35 points led Dallas to rout the San Antonio Spurs tonight, forcing a game 6 Thursday at AT&T arena. I mean, this game was over at the end of the third quarter, as Greg Popovich appeared to be resting his aging starters with plenty of time left to go. No Spurs starter played more than George Hill, who logged …

Allen, Pierce Lead Celtics to the Next Round While Cavs Punch Ticket As Well

Boston 96, Miami 86 (Celtics win series 4-1)

There was a little scare in the second half, but Paul Pierce confirmed his next visit to Miami will be “on vacation”.
Pierce’s 21 points and excellent all-around play held off a furious attack led by Dwyane Wade and company to clinch the first round playoff series. They now await the winner of the Cleveland/Chicago (most likely Cleveland) series, whose game was currently at halftime as of press release.
Ray Allen also led the Celtics with 24 points, shooting 5-6 from beyond the arc. Rajon …

Suns Rout Blazers…Is It Time To Shut Down Brandon Roy??

Suns 107, Blazers 88 (Suns lead 3-2)

After the Blazers won game four, tying the series at 2 games apiece, I had two thoughts coming into game five.

How would Brandon Roy and his knee hold up?
If the Suns win game five, I think the series is over. If the Blazers win game five, I think the series is going seven games.

So here we go, the all too critical game five of a tied series. Phoenix had the fortune of being at home  in front of a great crowd, while Portland had …

Jennings & Defino Even Series for Bucks; Magic SWEEP Bobcats

Bucks 111, Hawks 104 (Series tied 2-2)
Holding serve. The Hawks did so on their home court in the first two games, and the Bucks have now done the same in their two home games. Is this a trend, or a coincidence?
Carlos Delfino (I thought he only killed the Nets…) did his thing, scoring 22 points on 6-8 shooting from beyond the arc. His energy in 40 minutes of play and his ability to hit the long range shot was more than enough for the Bucks – who shot 55% as …

Wade’s RIDICULOUS Second Half Halts Celtics While LeBron’s Triple-Double Leads Cavaliers Rout

Heat 101, Celtics 92 (Celtics lead 3-1)
Sorry Boston, we’re fresh out of brooms. Also, Dwyane Wade is going to need a chiropractor (or three).
Wade managed to extend Miami’s season at least one game further with his clutch performance today against the Celtics. While his 46 points is noteworthy, he scored 30 points in the second half, including 19 points in the 4th quarter. I can’t remember a greater single-handed performance by a player in recent memory.
To be honest, I thought the Heat were in trouble in the third quarter, thanks …
