Lakers Take Commanding 2-0 Lead

Lakers 124, Suns 112 (Lakers lead 2-0)
Before this series is OFFICIALLY over, it seems all but over for the Suns.  Now I picked the Suns to win this series because, like the Lakers, they were playing hot all around and everyone was performing at the peak of their game.  But just like Shooter said, guys like Frye were playing WAAAAY over their heads and it’s killed the Suns thus far.

Kobe scored 40 points in game 1, so what was the game 2 strategy?  Well it seemed like they were going …

Kobe Does Work as Lakers Take Game One

Lakers 126, Suns 107 (Lakers lead 1-0)

The best way to describe the outcome of this game is that Kobe did what LeBron was supposed to do in game six of the Cavs-Celtics series. He took over, and made sure that they wouldn’t lose this game. It wasn’t all about Kobe, but when you can drop 40-somethin’ points on somebody, you’re probably going to take the W (unless you are the W’s aka the Warriors).
The Lake Show took a seven point lead into the half, and it seemed like letting Phoenix …

Celtics Hold Off Magical Surge, Take Game 1

Celtics 92, Magic 88 (Celtics lead 1-0)
Did anyone else think they were going to blow it? Or did the Magic wake up too late to complete the comeback?
Holding a 20-point advantage in the third quarter, the Orlando Magic launched a massive assault at Boston, including a 6-point swing off Jason Williams and Mickael Pietrus 3-point bombs. While they were able to get the lead down to two off an acrobatic tip in by Jameer Nelson, the Magic were unable to revert the lead.
Story of the game was Paul Pierce and …

Boston Moves On, LeBron Gives Up

Celtics 94, Cavaliers 85 (Celtics win series 4-2)
Oh my, that just happened…
Boston will now move on to face the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals after a 9 point clinching win at the TD Bank North Garden. I’m honestly still in disbelief this happened. Again, the Celtics used a balanced attack of Rondo, Ray-Ray, Pierce, and KG and gave LeBron and Co way to much to handle.
But let’s be honest – if anything was telling about the last 2 minutes of the game, it was Cleveland giving up. 9 …

Celts Dominate Cavs, Grab 3-2 Lead

Celtics 120, Cavaliers 88 (Celtics lead 3-2)
Wait…what? Did anybody see this coming?
I, who had hopes of Boston maybe stretching this series to 7, never thought this was possible. But the Boston Celtics used a balanced attack of their Big Three to completely romp Cleveland on the road. They now have a 3-2 series lead and could wrap up this series with a win at The Garden Thursday night. It was Paul Pierce’s turn to lead Boston with the attack tonight, scoring 21 points and picking up 11 rebounds (he was …

Lakers Complete the Sweep in Utah Behind Gasol, Kobe

Lakers 111, Jazz 96 (Lakers win series 4-0)
This series was over before it started, and none of us really even knew it.

After their opening series shocker (yes, shocker) versus Oklahoma City, the Lakers have flicked the switch and turned it on. Question is, will Phil Jackson allow them to turn it off?

In Game 4 in Salt Lake City, the Lakers came out on a mission. They were not planning to play another game in this series and the Jazz probably didn’t expect such a push by LA. The Lakers never …

Orlando Stays Perfect by Eliminating the Hawks

Magic 98, Hawks 84 (Magic win series 4-0)
The Magic pulled out to a 25-15 during the first quarter and never looked back.  The Magic assaulted the Hawks with sixteen three pointers and were led by Vince Carter’s 22 points.  The Hawks were able to keep Superman, Dwight Howard, under control (13 points, 8 rebounds, 7 turnovers) but were killed by the rest of the Magic.  Atlanta had no one, including Mike Bibby (11 minutes and 4 points) that could cover Jameer Nelson who finished with 16 points and 9 assists.
The …
