Thunder Streak Ends, Grizzlies Back to .500, Nuggets Win Without Melo/Billups

Hornets 99, Rockets 95
The Hornets have pulled to within 1 game of .500 after a rocky start, a fired head coach and a few tough injuries.  Overall in this game, the Rockets shot a better percentage and made more 3′s but in the end lost the game.  New Orleans won the turnover battle by 9 but it was still close throughout.  Both teams centers proved to be pretty beast on the night with 13 rebounds by Hayes and 16 for Okafor.
Clown of the game: Peja Stojakovic.  Why does this man …

Varejao Hustles Cavs to Win, Big 3 Minus 2 = Win in BOS, Bulls are Streakin!

Cavaliers 94, Nets 86
In a Saturday matinee, the Cavs wore their white/home jerseys despite playing in New Jersey. Oh, and the crowd was rooting for the Cavs, despite playing in New Jersey.
It’s normally a trend for ‘Nets’ crowds to favor the road superstars because of the lack of exiting play from the home team, but every time LeBron and Co. did anything exciting, the crowd ‘ooo’d and aw’d’ like they were at the circus.
The only thing that can be resembled from a circus is Anderson Varejao and his Sideshow Bob …

Knicks Overcome Hawks in OT; Kobe “Sean Elliots” Kings

Knicks 112, Hawks 108

My mom had family and friends over for dinner today, so I had a crowd of Knicks “fans” (they’re coming out of the shadows these days) over to watch this game with me. This game can be summed up in two words: Nate Robinson. Just a week ago, Nate was looking to be dealt, as he hadn’t played a game in 30 days leading up to this game. The Knicks were 9-6 in December so no one was really complaining. Well, now that we’re in January, Mike …

Short-handed Celts No Match for Suns; Hornets Hold Off Late Heat Surge; Jazz Barely Beat T-Wolves; Blazers and 76ers Win

Suns 116, Celtics 98
No Paul Pierce, no Kevin Garnett, big problem.  The Celtics, without two of their big three, were no match for the run and gun Suns.  Amare Stoudemire had a big first half scoring 18 of his 26 points while grabbing 7 rebounds in the process.  Channing Frye provided the second half spark scoring 26 points, as well shooting a red hot six of ten from downtown, and grabbing ten rebounds.  Steve Nash had a quiet night scoring 11 points and dishing out 8 dimes.
Eddie House led the …
