Nets Lose in Front of 1,000 Fans; Hornets Outlast the Celtics; Heat Torch the Hawks; plus more!

Bucks 97, Nets 77
In a game where Shooter and I (JB) were supposed to go to, the Nets hung tough until the end of the third quarter.  The snowstorm that hit the Tri-State area caused many fans to stay home.  However there were about 1,000 fans who came to see the Nets lose again and did not come away disappointed.  The Nets contained Brandon Jennings who only scored eight points, but his back up, Luke Ridnour, went off for 17 points.  Andrew Bogut led the Bucks with 22 points, 9 …

Heat CRUSH Rockets, Memphis Sliding, Mavs Play While Sleeping, Jazz Stay Hott

Heat 99, Rockets 66
The Heat’s defense looked like the best in the entire universe for one game only… not really.  It was a combination of that and HRBL shooting by the Rockets who shot 30% for the game.  The Rockets highest scoring quarter in this game was 24 points and the other three were 11, 15 and 16.  Embarassing.  Miami’s bench outscored Houston’s 48-24 and the high scorer for the Heat was D-Wade with just 17 points.  Miami hit 41 shots and 27 of them were assisted which is a …

Bobcats Snap 3 Game Slide; Thundercats Roll; and more!

Bobcats 94, Wizards 92
It might be time for the Wizards to unload Antawn Jamison and Caron Bulter for whatever they can get for them.  This team continues to lose close games and tonight was no different.  Down 92-91 with less than a minute to play, Flip Murray of the Bobcats was able to drive to the hole and was fouled.  He missed the first free throw but knocked down the second.  After Jamison missed a lay up from point blank range, Raymond Felton his a fadeaway ten foot jumper over …

Lakers Top Spurs Without Kobe & Bynum, Carter Drops 48 on Hornets, and Mavs Come Back on Warriors

Lakers 101, Spurs 89
Every season, the Spurs get off to a semi slow start where they hang a couple games above .500 and hold a 6th or 7th seed in the conference standings. Every season, come February, they then start attacking teams full throttle looking like contenders, closing the season much higher in the standings. This year, the Spurs haven’t begun this attack, and tonight would have been a perfect night to start. The Spurs headed to L.A. where the Lakers were sitting Kobe and Bynum due to injuries and …

Orlando’s ‘Magic’al 3rd Quarter Embarasses Boston, Bosh Wills Velociraptors to Win

Magic 96, Celtics 89
First off, I’d like to say that this is not my normal wrap-up coverage night, but The Ref (who adores Ray Allen and any team he is on) and Duts (who adores shamrocks and anything else green, specifically Celtic green) who normally have this night were not in the right state of mind to be covering this game. Not only that, but its Super Bowl Sunday, and you know that they’re trying to ‘forget’ what happened earlier in the day.
So here comes Shooter to the rescue!
Unfortunately for …

Hornets Back in Charlotte, Bulls Back in Win Column, LeBron Back in 40s

Hornets 104, Bobcats 99
I’m starting to think the Bobcats are taking their winning ways for granted. That sounded really lame, but seriously, after being up by 10 points at the half the Hornets outscored Charlotte 36-21 in the third quarter.
Wait a second – Charlotte? Remember a team that used to play there?
Grandma-ma does.
Wow, I really don’t know where I’m going with this.
Back to the game…. The Hornets won for the first time since Chris Paul was sidelined with his knee surgery. Darren Collison led the way for the Stingers with …

Butler Casts Magic Spell, Rockets Crash Grizz, and a Shout Out to Everything Sixers

Wizards 92, Magic 91
Inexcusable Orlando, simply inexcusable.
The Magic led this game 32-13 after the first quarter, and even held a 15 point lead at halftime. That didn’t mean squat to Wizards F Caron Butler, who not only scored 31 points, but he also hit the go-ahead, game-winning basket with 0.5 seconds left. Not only did this shot beat the buzzer, but it was a fade away from the corner and an extremely tough shot. Personally, I’ve been waiting for Butler to turn it on this year, especially with the prospective …
