Power Rankings: Week 8
The NBA can unwrap a lot of surprises to fans, media, and probably to the players themselves. Brandon Roy and Chris Paul are now entering the MVP talk with stellar performances. They are making big shots in big time games to put their teams in place for a playoff run. The Eastern Conference can’t even stay with the West, and I even find that a surprise to an extent since I thought they would improve. Right now, if the season ended today, Milwaukee (11-14), Toronto (13-17), and …

Power Rankings: Week 7
What an interesting week. The Pistons are on a five game winning streak without Ben Gordon, Tayshaun Prince, and mostly Rip Hamilton (played against Warriors last night). The Magic lose 2 tough road games, Kobe’s flu and fractured index finger combine for a loss at Utah, and Boston is running like a fine oiled machine. How terrible can the Nets and Sixers get, and if you haven’t heard, the Bulls are thinking about hiring Lawrence Frank. My boy Basher is going delve into …

Power Rankings Week 6
Oh yeah, we are just about a quarter of the way through the season, and things are starting to come into focus. The Lakers toughness is still in question after their thriller with the Heat. Are the Orlando Magic really this good…without Jameer Nelson? Some big time rookies are running into the wall… ahem ahem Mr. Jennings in particular. Biggest Gain: Orlando (+8)
Biggest Drop: Sacramento (-7)
1.Atlanta (11-3) Despite losing to the Paul-less Hornets, this is the best TEAM in the league. Playing as one unit and feeding off each other. Mike Woodson is the …

Let’s see how the league pan’s out in The Ref’s eyes.

Interesting second week in the NBA, the Suns and Heat continue to impress. The Clippers show they can win without rookie phenom Blake Griffin, going on a three game winning streak. The Nuggets lose two in a row while the Celtics recover from their first loss. And finally, the Houston Rockets continue to find more ways to win.
Biggest Gain: Milwaukee (+6)
Biggest Drop: San Antonio (-11)
