Power Rankings: Week 15

Power Rankings: Week 15
It’s all-star time and some teams can’t wait to get there, while others just want to keep on rolling. Impressive win by the Lakers the other night against a depleted Portland team. The Jazz are the hottest team in the NBA and are almost unstoppable at home.
The Grizzlies return to Earth after their short period in a place they don’t belong: in the playoffs. I think where every team is right now is how it’s going to be during playoff time. The only team I see getting …

Power Rankings: Week 14
This is when it gets interesting ladies and gents. The NBA is over the hump and heading to the straight away. The pressure will mount on some young teams trying to make the playoff push. Teams like Memphis, Oklahoma City, and Milwaukee. Who can handle the heat? For teams like this, the last month and a half is the playoffs. It becomes a grind. Every game is vital and can make or break a youthful ball club.
Looking on the other side of the spectrum, the Lakers and …

Power Rankings: Week 13
The All-Star starters were announced this week, and some I agree with, others I don’t. Shooter makes an intriguing point about the All Star selection, “Each MVP from a winning team should be selected.” I agree in a sense, but the All-Star Game is a joke. It’s like watching a Harlem Globetrotters game. It means nothing.
Therefore, certain players that make it to has no representation of what they do for their teams. Players like Chris Kaman, Jamal Crawford, Chauncey Billups, Rudy Gay and Andrea Barganni make a …

Power Rankings: Week 12
Alright, look at the East making a statement. After I bashed the conference for being so unbelievably terrible for having 4 teams over .500 (West had 12 at this point), the East now have 7 over said mark, including the Toronto Raptors. The team has proved they can play a little defense, and win on the road for a change. I am excited to see this team play in the near future, and what if this makes Chris Bosh reconsider his decision to leave. It’s very unlikely …

Power Rankings: Week 11

Power Rankings: Week 11
Does any team want to claim the Number 1 spot? It is almost halfway through the season, and the few elite teams are all about even. The Celtics, Lakers, and Orlando are suffering due to injuries while the Cavaliers lose at home to the Bobcats. The effin Bobcats. They’re terrible on the road. While this is occurring, other teams are quickly on the rise. The Raptors, Grizzlies, and New Orleans are playing superbly and should start being reckoned with. Watch out, you can’t sleep on these teams …

Power Rankings: Week 10
How can I explain this week without using illicit material to express my emotions. Gilbert Arenas is firing out shots because Tim Donaghy decided to give Javaris Crittenton better inside information. Vinny Del Negro finds out a way to defeat Mount Vesuvius for the time being. The LeBron hate continues as the Cavs look indestructible until they lose to Charlotte… at HOME. The Bobcats are 3-14 away from home. How do you lose? The Hawks have lost all elite status mentions due to their embarrassing week. How …

Power Rankings: Week 9

Power Rankings: Week 9
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas this year, but now it’s back to basketball, especially for some teams that didn’t show up on Jesus’ Birthday: Lakers and Magic in particularly. On the other hand, how about the Cavs? Three road wins against the best home teams in the league, some in convincing fashion. Kevin Durant illustrated his ability to lead his team against the best in the West, even in the waning second. Brandon Roy is the MVP, and Deron Williams is the player of the …
