NBA Playoffs: Conference Semifinal Predictions

As round 2 of the NBA playoffs gets underway, we’ve already seen a ton of competition over the last couple of weeks. Despite there only being one Game 7 in the first round, there was still an incredible amount of passion and grit shown. Should we expect more from round 2? Why not!! The matchups get better and the talent has been filtered. Only the strong survive, right?
Here are a few storylines for each team in the conference semifinals:

Is LeBron’s elbow really injured? Just kidding.. but will it be a factor?
Can Boston’s …

“Where You Can’t Handle THE TRUTH Happens.” Boston Takes 3-0 Lead on Pierce Buzzer-Beater

Boston 100, Miami 98 (Celtics lead 3-0)
I have to admit, I was totally wrong about this year’s Boston Celtics. The regular season we saw a completely different animal. This time around, the animal’s hungry.
Paul Pierce (also known as “The Truth”, if you have lived under a rock the past 10 years) let time wind down, and sunk a shot from about 20 feet away to put the Celts in a commanding 3-0 lead.
Worse news for Miami – Wade may be hurt. He had a chance to take the lead with …

Thunder Come From Behind and Win, While J-Rich’s 42 Causes Blowout Win

This recap was a Live In-Game Blog written by yours truly, JB.  I apologize in advance if it seems random, but this was one of the best games I have watched in a while.  As a fan of the Thunder this was exciting to see them continue to battle back until they were able to pull it out.  Enjoy and please check out my boy, G’s, Suns vs Blazers wrap-up as well.
Lakers 27, Thunder 22 (End of 1st Quarter)
The Oklahoma City Thunder fans have an awesome (in my opinion) tradition …

NBA Playoffs: First Round Predictions

The 2010 NBA playoffs are finally here! After a full season of all 30 teams battling it out (including the Nets to a lesser extent), 16 teams survive and fight for the Larry O’Brien trophy. Can LeBron finally lead the Cavs to the promise land?  Has Dwight Howard learned what it will take to get it all?  Are the Spurs and Celtics washed up? Will Kevin Durant continue a dream season for OKC? Can Kobe get the one for the thumb?

NBAtoday.net doesn’t necessarily have the answers, but we do have a …

Nets Avoid (Bad) History, Raptors Cling to 8th Spot, & Mavericks Outlast Nuggets

Nets 90, Spurs 84
What more can I say? As a Sixers’ fan, I was secretly hoping the Nets stayed at 9 wins, so that it would make the Sixers’ franchise look less bad. As a friend, I was truly hoping they got the ten wins, because getting 9 wins in any major professional sport in today’s day and age is straight up embarrassing. Not that ten wins is much better…I’m just sayin. Going further, Basher was able to acquire about 3894 tickets to this game, so a good group went. Losers, …

Things You’ll Never Believe on Saturday: Final Score in Mavs Loss to NY, Scola’s Amazing Night, and more!

Knicks 128, Mavericks 94
Wow.
I turned on this game with 5 minutes left in the game, and I have to say that the score I saw was the ABSOLUTE opposite of what I was expecting. Why would I think that? Well, maybe you’ll recall a massive beat down over a month ago in New York in which the Mavericks beat the Knicks by 50! So, naturally, I would expect the Mavericks, a team on a 13-game win streak and on their home floor, to win by 34, not the Knicks.
So what …
