What to Watch for: Apr 5 – 11

With only about a half dozen games to go on the schedule for most teams, you’ll notice in this week’s What to Watch for that many matchups are possible first round previews. But the West is the craziest as teams 2 through 8 are only four games apart.

Monday
No games on Monday to pay respects to the college game. But you know what, you should definitely stop at MLBtoday.net to catch up on baseball. And if you are watching the men’s college championship, then root for Butler. Frig Duke.
Tuesday
Hawks @ Bobcats …

Pippen and Malone: Next Stop HOF

Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer with the official announcement coming on Monday.  Pippen and Malone are well beyond deserving of their Hall of Fame induction.  Scottie Pippen has always lived in Michael Jordan’s shadow and fortunately for him he won the same 6 NBA Championships that Jordan did.  Karl Malone will definitely go down as one of the top 50 NBA players of all-time and he NEVER won a championship, but he is 2nd all-time in points scored.
Like I said, Scottie …

Contracts, Contracts, Contracts… Championship?

Contracts are a big part of the NBA and its players.  Everyone wants to make money and support their family, but sometimes it takes more than money to become a winner in this game.  In the West, a lot of teams are coming on strong at the end of the season including Dallas, Pheonix and Utah.
So that being said, will this be the year that the Suns and Jazz play in the Western Conference Finals (pending the seeding it set up for that matchup)?  Do you think I’m crazy for asking that …

News and Rumors: Bag Lunch in NJ, D-Rose’s Prediction, & More!

Bag-Gate Comes to an End
After an ugly argument in a game last week, Nets CEO Brett Yormark and the ‘paper-bag fans’ had a planned lunch meeting on Tuesday afternoon to bury the hatchet (and to play the public relations game). This has to have been the most bizarre lunch EVER. It was sponsored by McDonalds, so they ate hamburgers, fries and salads – from …

What to Watch for: Mar 29 – Apr 4

Watch the NBA this week. I promise you won’t be disappointed. And if you choose to take my advice and watch some NBA action, here are a list of games to watch!
Monday
Raptors @ Bobcats – As lame as this matchup seems, both of these teams are in the playoffs as of now in the East. This game should be won by the Bobcats, but I’d like to see the Raptors put up a fight in Charlotte.
Nuggets @ Mavericks – If someone was able to upset the Lakers in the first …

The Golden State (Oracle) Warriors for Sale

According to ESPN.com, the Golden State Warriors have hired the firm Galatioto Sports Partners (many know as GSP) to assist them in the sale of the franchise. There had been discussions surrounding the Oakland-based team that Larry Ellison (CEO of Oracle) is interested in owning the team.
In my mind, Ellison as an owner makes sense. Ellison has some ownership experience (just not in Basketball), as he owns the BMW Oracle Racing team. They play at the Oracle Arena already, so why not? As a techie myself, I like the Oracle …

What to Watch for: Mar 22 – 28

March Madness is out of control right now in the NCAA, but so is the NBA! This past weekend has been so crazy for college hoops, that there’s no way it can keep up in the second weekend. So why not watch the NBA while you’re at it? (I will be, since KU is out)

Monday
Hawks @ Bucks – All signs point to this being a first round 4/5 matchup in the East. These two teams are truly exciting, but which one is better RIGHT NOW? I’m going with Milwaukee; however, …
