Team USA Picks 15 for World Championships

With the FIBA World Championships in Istanbul and Turkey a little over a month away, Team USA cut their roster to 15 players after their workouts concluded this past week in Las Vegas.  Team USA will play several exhibition games in the USA and Spain before having to finalize their 12 man roster for the World Championships on August 28.  Here is who will be proudly representing the United States:

Guards: Chauncey Billups, Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose

Fowards: Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, Rudy Gay, Lamar Odom, Danny Granger,  Jeff Green, Kevin Love

Centers: Tyson Chandler, Brook Lopez

While I think this is going to be Kevin Durant’s team, I am looking forward to seeing Chauncey Billups step up and be the leader.  This team has several young guards that can learn a lot from Billups leadership and professionalism.  Without all the big dogs (Kobe, LeBron, Wade, etc.) playing, the future of the Team USA will be getting plenty of playing time and experience.  The first game for Team USA is August 15 against France at Madison Square Garden.

What do you think of Team USA’s roster?  Who do you think should be the last three players eliminated?
