More News, Rumors, & Player Movements as Teams take Shape

Since there are no major, major stories recently, this News and rumors post will be a manifest of tidbits. If you don’t know, tidbits are by far my favorite things to type up anyway lol.

Recent Transactions:

  • Corey Brewer has signed a 3 year deal worth $12.5 million with the Chicago Bulls. Brewer was the second choice after the Orlando Magic manned up, and matched J.J. Redick’s offer sheet.
  • Brad Miller has signed with the Rockets for 3 years and $15 million. Solid back up for Yao.
  • For 2 years and $8 million, the Celtics have resigned Nate Robinson. I love short term deals and this seems to be a smart move the for the Celtics who only have so many deep playoff runs left in them. Tony Allen signed a three year deal with the Grizzlies, so this meant the Celtics had to do something to bolster their backcourt bench.
  • The Heat continue to fill out their roster signing rookie big man Dexter Pittman, along with big man Joel Anthony, who was on the team last year.

Legendary Comebacks?

  • Penny Hardaway says that he would like to come back, and help out the Miami Heat. In other words, he’d like to piggy back off the Heat, and get himself a championship ring. I can’t knock Penny for that, mainly because I LOVED Penny growing up, especially those commercials.
  • Tracy McGrady has been in talks with the Chicago Bulls, as he looks to resurrect his career after injury absences.
  • Allen Iverson wants to play again. But where? He’s definitely not coming back to Philly.

LeBron

  • Dwyane Wade claims that LeBron didn’t quit in the series against Boston. Sure.
  • There are rumors that the Heat may have made deals with LeBron’s friends, promising them jobs and benefits for coming to Miami.
  • Rod Thorn claims he would have stayed as Nets’ GM if LeBron had signed there, just “to watch.”
