Jefferson & Chandler Shipped, Heat Add a Big Piece, and More…

Jefferson to the Jazz

When Michael Beasley got shipped to the Timberwolves for 2 Pepsi’s and a bag of popcorn, we all knew that Al Jefferson was likely gone. Jefferson has found a home in Utah in exchange for two future first round picks. The Jazz were able to acquire Big Al with a trade exception left over from Boozer’s departure. In my eyes, the Jazz made a good move here, as they had to bring some talent in after Boozer left for the sake of Deron Williams.

Tyson Chandler headed to Big D

After Charlotte backed out of a rumored three team deal, they chose a deal with Dallas that will send Tyson Chandler and Alexis Ajinca to Dallas in exchange for Erick Dampier, Eduardo Najera, and Matt Carroll. Both Dampier and Chandler have expiring contracts. Dallas went heavily after Chandler once they lost out on Al Jefferson. I’ve always liked Chandler, but he has never found his way since he left New Orleans.

Big Z Follows Lebron

LeBron’s right hand man, Zydrunas Ilgauskas will join the Miami Heat, likely for the veterans minimum. Big Z probably has about a year or two left in him, but he still fills the gaping need at Center that Miami so desperately needed. Unlike Lebron, I don’t have a problem with Z man joining the Heat, because the Cavs so easily dumped him in trading for Antawn Jamison last season.

Tidbits:

  • Since it seemed unlikely Matt Barnes was going to stay in Orlando, the Magic agreed to terms with one of my all time faves, Quentin Richardson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Magic also still have until Friday to match the Bulls $19M-3 year offer to JJ Redick.
  • Danny Ferry and Billy King are reportedly finalists for the Nets’ GM position. As a Sixers fan, I suggest you don’t hire Billy King.
  • Raja Bell plans to meet with his clothesline victime, Kobe Bryant, to discuss possibly becoming a Laker. I like it.

I feel like the Heat could have at least gotten two Cokes or a Bud Light for Beasley, but they settled for Pepsi … SMH

We were just talking about Deron Williams being pissed last night.. I guess someone heard us haha.

Also, I’m getting the feeling that the Heat are this expansion team that literally had to start from scratch. It’s like a fantasy team that is just trying to pick up scraps to fill roster spots.

If Ron Artest going to LA can work, then anything can work. Let’s get Raja Bell.
