With all the rumors and speculation that have been swirling around the biggest free agent frenzy in NBA history, it is hard to figure out what if fact and what is fiction.  Here at NBAtoday, we are determined to bring you the latest, “truthful” news.  Check back here early and often to see what is going on during these next few hectic days.

What We Know:

Joe Johnson. It is reported that the Atlanta Hawks are offering Joe Johnson a six year, 119 million dollar contract.  All I can say is wow.  Teams were lining up to sign him as a complementary player to LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, or Chris Bosh, and now it seems like he will stay the top dog in Atlanta.  Although it is a lot of money to leave on the table, we will now see if Joe Johnson wants to win a championship (with less money), or doom himself to early and often exits for many Junes to come.

Rudy Gay. It appears that Rudy Gay will remain the cornerstone that the Memphis Grizzlies plan to continue to build around.  The Grizz offered Gay a max deal of five years and $81.6 million.  The Nets are quickly running out of options to fill their SG/SF spot.

Drew Gooden. Sources confirm that Drew Gooden has come to terms with the Milwaukee Bucks.  The deal is five years and $32 million.  Gooden will be able to join forces with Brandon Jennings, Andrew Bogut, and newly acquired Corey Maggette and Chris Douglas-Roberts.

Dark Milicic. Ah yes, in breaking news today, Milicic, who claimed that he was going back overseas after this past season, decided to re-sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves for $20 million over 5 years.

Rumors Swirling:

LeBron James. Today (July 1st) LeBron met with the Knicks and Nets brass as both tried to woo him with the idea of playing in New York (well, eventually for the Nets).  He will be meeting with the Heat and Clippers tomorrow.  I feel bad for all those Cleveland fans, but after two years and all this hype, LeBron better be signing elsewhere.

Chris Bosh. With no concrete evidence on where he will end up, many feel that he will end up in Miami, Houston, or Chicago via a sign and trade.  Bosh, who may be feeling a little left out due to the LeBron-sanity all over ESPN, is tweeting about this free agent experience.

At 4 am on July 1, Bosh tweeted, “It’s been an exciting first couple of hrs.  Got some interesting visits and presentations from Houston, Toronto, Chicago, and Miami.  We’ll see who else will come tomorrow.”

You can follow Chris Bosh on twitter, @chrisbosh, and if you are like me, send him a tweet to take less money and sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Although he would be playing the role of an undersized center, they would be nasty!

Amare Stoudemire. At midnight, Amare opted out of his final year in his contract with the Phoenix Suns.  It was reported that Stoudemire met with the Miami Heat early this morning.

Dwayne Wade. It seems like he would really like to stay in Miami.  I do not blame him, he runs that city.  Getting a big man to run with (Bosh, Stoudemire, Boozer) would make staying a no brainer.

John Salmons. Rumors out of Milwaukee have stated that the Bucks have made some headway in negotiations  in bringing Salmons back.  Hopefully Jennings and Salmons can mesh with Corey Maggette if the deal happens.

Channing Frye. The Suns have reportedly offered Channing Frye a 5 year, $25 million contract.  I’m not sure if he can get more elsewhere, but if I was Frye I would stay with the Suns because he fits so well in their system.  The only other place I see Frye being successful is in a return to New York, but judging from last time I do not see him being able to handle the pressure of playing there.
