Suns Win at Home, Still Down 2-1
Suns 118, Lakers 109 (Lakers lead 2-1)
One game at home, one victory for the Suns. They took care of business like they needed to, to make the series a respectable 2-1 in favor the Lakers. Amare’ Stoudemire shrugged off all the media talk of him not playing defense but still not playing defense BUT scoring 42 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. After the first two games, the Suns seemed deflated so it was a good moral victory for this team to and they still have another home game before heading to LA.
Despite Channing Frye playing like a clown again, the Suns pulled it off by making more free throws than the Lakers took. The Suns were 37-42 from the line and the Lakers were 16-20 and much like games 1 and 2 the Lakers outrebounded the Suns but only by one rebound. The Lakers were down virtually the entire game despite shooting a better percentage as well as making more 3′s. So don’t get too excited Suns fans because despite the win the Lakers still appear to be in full control of this series.
The Suns still didn’t defend Kobe at all, who had 36 points, but with Bynum only playing 7 minutes, Amare and the Suns definitely took advantage. Also the Suns bench only scored 15 points, they really need to step it up if they want to win this series.
My opinion:
The Suns will win game 4 and then lost the next two games. The Lakers are too big and their defensive presense is just way better than the Suns. The Suns really haven’t proven anything to me this game. The Lakers executed their gameplan just as they had hoped but came up a little short. I don’t think Kobe will allow that to happen for another game.
P.S. – No Collins twin siting = a win.
