Bucks Fall Short In Series Upset As The Hawks Roll

2 May 2010 217 views No Comment

Hawks 95, Bucks 74 (Hawks win series 4-3)

Before this series even had started, most (including myself) had written the Bucks off. No one gave them a chance after Andrew Bogut went down for the season especially when they were matched up with an uber-athletic team in the Atlanta Hawks. But with great athleticism and raw ability, came lackluster play. This allowed the Bucks to actually go up 3-2 in this series. But just like in game 6, the Bucks looked out of it and didn’t have the offense to back up their defense.

The Bucks scored just 13 points in the first quarter, and 14 points in the fourth quarter, to basically take themselves out of this game. The Hawks played solid, but were saved every so often by their veteran point guard Mike Bibby. No one on Milwaukee could get it going, as it seemed like Atlanta truly realized that they had to win this game, or go home. Milwaukee on the other hand, seemed like they were in a malaise, ever since going up 3-2. As exciting as this series could have been, the last two games of this series didn’t live up to the hype in any way.

What this Loss Means for the Bucks:

  1. A chance to rest and look back on a spectacular season. I’m sure all of the players on Milwaukee were trying to win, butthey have to be proud even in this loss. They were without Michael Redd all season, and Andrew Bogut down the stretch. With Jennings surrounded by a young core, look for this team to be very successful next season.
  2. Scott Skiles needs some type of contract extension haha.

What this Win Means for the Hawks:

The Hawks should savor this win, because it doesn’t look good for them heading into a series against Orlando. But then again, you never know, as this is June Jubilation.
