Antoine Walker: Shimmying His Way Back to the NBA
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh……….Antoine Walker?

The former Celtic non-great has decided to try and make a comeback to the NBA, joining names like LBJ, D-Wade, and CB4. Let’s just hope he’s not holding out for the max contract he never had.
Recently, Walker has been working out with former coach Rick Pitino’s Louisville players in preparation for a comeback. Walker has been out of the NBA since 2008, but there’s much more than a normal comeback that he has to overcome.
Walker is one of the laziest players to ever play in the NBA. Actually, correction, Walker is THE laziest player to ever play in the NBA. This would be a case of someone completely undeserving being allowed to play in the Association. If a team signs him, even to a minimum contract, I will be distraught. I cannot and will not ever root for him.
I still can’t believe he won a ring with the 2006 Miami Heat. Luckily he was not one of the star players on that team. Oh wait, actually that’d be impossible, because any team that he was one of the best players would NOT win a championship (i.e. Celtics). Although, I certainly couldn’t see any championship caliber team picking him up this time around.

I wouldn’t say Walker is only coming back to play ball again, he’s really coming back because he wants a big paycheck. In recent years, Walker has owed nearly $1 million to three Las Vegas casinos to settle bad-check charges. That’s pretty embarrassing for any professional athlete. Did he even try to sell his championship ring? He should truly give it away, because he didn’t actually earn it…
As for practice, Pitino coached Walker back in the 1990s at Kentucky, and he hopes Walker will be able to give his players a life lesson. Man, if you’re looking for a good life lesson, not following the footsteps of anything Antoine Walker has EVER done is a good start.
Anyway, Walker will be 34 when the 2010-2011 season starts. Only time will tell if he actually gets an NBA contract. Now that I think of it, I would LOVE to see him stuck in the D-League – that’d make me so happy.

OMG I hated the shimmy after he made a 3 pointer or 2.
He looked absolutely ridiculous.
I thought he was gonna be a star when he came out of Kentucky.
I thought Ron Mercer would be a star too.
Oh well. I doubt anyone signs this guy.
I just don’t see why he doesn’t go to Europe.
Some team there would pay him.
Bob McAdoo was playing in Europe when he was like 47 years old.
If you look at the picture it looks like he is auditioning for the Thriller video.
[...] official, Antoine Walker is a bum. He filed for bankruptcy in Florida last week. His 2006 NBA championship ring is listed as [...]
