Bulls Are Playoff Bound; See Where Everyone Else Stands
Bulls 98, Bobcats 89
Win and you’re in. That’s all the Bulls needed to do last night and that they did. They were crushing the Bobcats at halftime, so unless they collapsed it was a done deal for the Raptors, win or not. The Bobcats did bring it to 7 in the second half, but they benched most of their starters seeing as almost everyone on the roster played 20 minutes.
Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 27 and seems to be carrying his team in the playoffs. If he could play this good down the stretch, I don’t know why he doesn’t do it all season long and actually get the Bulls a GOOD seed! Congrats Chicago, you will now lose in 5 games to the Cavs.
If the Spurs won and the Blazers lost, the Spurs would avoid seeing the Mavs in the first round; but they lost so this game is a preview of their first round matchup. Despite the mathematical differences in seeding, the Spurs have a good chance to win because the Mavs love choking - having lost in the first round 2 out of the last 3 seasons since making it to the Finals.
Warriors 122, Blazers 116
Both teams were shorthanded last night. The Blazers were without their best player in Brandon Roy, who may miss the entire postseason with a knee injury which will require surgery, and the Warriors were without their entire team basically. Four starters for the Warriors played 48 minutes and Stephen Curry lit it up for 42 points, 8 assists and 9 rebounds. The Blazers lost but so did the Spurs so the Blazers remain the 6 seed and will face the Suns in the first round.
Suns 100, Jazz 86
Man oh man, how good are the Suns playing right now? The Suns won and they are now the 3 seed as opposed to the 5 seed. This was a huge win for Phoenix, who played a tough schedule down the stretch yet cruising through these opponents. The Suns will now play the Blazers while the Jazz get the tough 4 vs. 5 matchup against the Nuggets.
