What to Watch for: Mar 8 – 14

8 March 2010 193 views No Comment

Every night in the NBA is completely unpredictable. Anything can happen at any time, and no one can prophesize each coming day. So this is a what to watch for, but don’t be constrained by these games, watch them all! Here is a preview though of the games I am looking forward to the most!

Monday

Spurs @ Cavs – This matchup should mean a lot more, but since the Spurs are no considered a top class team, there really isn’t much chance of this being a Finals preview. But let’s hope the Spurs have something to prove here!

Tuesday

Heat @ Bobcats – Two teams fighting for a playoff spot in the East. I can guarantee you one thing: they will knock each other out for a chance to win this game.

Jazz @ Bulls – Daa Bulls need this game to prove to me that they are worth anything. I don’t care if it’s against one of the best in the West, because they’re at home.

Celtics @ Bucks – There’s a reason our podcast is covering this game, and that’s because the Bucks are on a roll and its time they got their due. Meanwhile, the Celtics are clowning around and could use a good road win.

Wednesday

Grizzlies @ Celtics – Let’s go Grizzlies!!

Hornets @ Thunder – Let’s go Hornets!!

Thursday

Bulls @ Magic – This Thursday is extremely disappointing to me. TNT has some games that could have been expected to be good earlier in the season, but at this point they aren’t. This truly is the best game of the day – sigh.

Friday

Cavs @ SixersLeBron. Sorry G, you know I’m rootin for ya.

Nets @ Thunder – Pretty, pretty please win this game New Jersey! I will be forever in debt (literally)!

Jazz @ Bucks – The Buckaroos are looking for more home magic, but it will take a defeat of the Jazz to keep the good times rollin’.

Lakers @ Suns – The Suns are making things interesting, but so are the Lakers. I can’t wait for this game to come. It should be a playoff atmosphere in Phoenix baby!

Saturday

Nuggets @ Grizzlies – Maybe Renaldo Balkman will get in this game! Let’s go JB!

Raptors @ Warriors – Final score: 128-121. Don’t ask who wins, just watch the game to see a whole group of people score 30 points.

Sunday

Celtics @ Cavs – Too bad the C’s are so inconsistent, otherwise this could have been a pretty good game. Sorry Duts.

Jazz @ Thunder – The Jazz road trip continues into OKC on Sunday. Let’s hope they don’t run out of gas by that point (I figure they will though).

My Top 5 MVP Contenders

I really don’t like when MVP races start too early, to the point where you can’t even enjoy the announcement when it comes. But it is March, and there’s only about a month a half left in the season. So here is a list of the top five MVP contenders (no rankings, sorry, but I know I’ll spur an argument) as of today. Please let me know who I’ve left out, not that I’ll necessarily agree:

  • Kobe Bryant, Lakers
  • LeBron James, Cavaliers
  • Kevin Durant, Thunder
  • Dwight Howard, Magic
  • Chauncey Billups, Nuggets
