Suns Clinch Playoff Spot; Bucks Take Care of Clippers; Durant Leads Thunder Over Sixers
Suns 111, Bulls 105
Steve Nash’s double-double helped the Suns defeat the Chicago Bulls and clinch a playoff spot. Nash finished with 22 points and 10 assists. Jason Richardson led the Suns with 27 points and Amare Stoudemire finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds. The Bulls were led by both Flip Murray and Derrick Rose, who each finished with 23 points. With tonight’s win the Suns stay ahead of the Denver Nuggets for the 4th seed and if they stay hot they have the chance to ultimately end up with the two seed. Only time will tell.
Bucks 107, Clippers 89
In a chippy game Steven Blake of the Clippers had enough of Andrew Bogut’s picks and decided to get in his face. Brandon Jennings rushed over to defend his center and that was that. The motivated Bucks disposed of the Clippers to ensure their first winning season since 2003. Ersan Ilyasova led the Bucks with 20 points off the bench, but it was Jennings who shined. Jennings finished with 17 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Drew Gooden had another double-double for the Clips with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Thunder 111, Sixers 93
The Thunder may not make it deep into their year’s playoffs, but they are exciting to watch. Kevin Durant had this 65th game of the season in which he scores at least 25 points. To go along with this 26 points, Durant also pulled down 10 rebounds. Russell Westbrook also finished with a double-double with 10 points and 14 assists. Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 22 points and 21 points respectively. I hope for G’s sake the Sixers make some moves to improve their roster for next year.
