What to Watch for: Feb 22 – 28

The trade deadline has come and passed, and now we can finally focus on the playoff push in each conference. The coming week should continue the excitement around the league, so check out this action!

Monday

Bucks @ Knicks – The Garden was back in track on Saturday night when Durant and the Thunder were in town, but now we will see if it continues when Brandon Jennings and the Bucks come to play T-Mac and the boys in orange and blue. Not to mention, the Knicks should have picked Jennings in the draft.

Hawks @ Jazz – Two teams with nearly identical records. But you know what isn’t identical? The Hawks terrible road record and the Jazz awesome home record. However, if the Hawks show up, this could be an awesome game.

Tuesday

Lakers @ Grizzlies – Will Kobe be back for this game?? I’m waiting for him to make a grand entrance in which he drops like 65 points to declare his return to the lineup. Maybe it’ll be this game, who knows.

Suns @ Thunder – The Thunder are rollin’ right now! I’m not sure if the Suns are capable of ending a hot team’s streak right now, especially on the road. But if the Suns do win this game, it’ll be due to Amare Stoudemire’s presence in the paint.

Wednesday

Blazers @ Raptors – I’m only putting this game here because it’s on our podcast and The Ref wanted to do this game. Check out our podcast cause it’s pretty awesome.

Thunder @ Spurs – It’s a busy week for the Thundercats, who travel south to San Antone to play the Spurs. This is a big game for them because they want to prove their worth among a contender in the West.

Lakers @ Mavericks – This is the game of the week, by far. I am excited to see the new-look Mavs face the defending champ Lakers. I know that Kobe will be back for this, so I can only imagine the competition between these two teams that HATE each other already.

Thursday

Cavs @ Celtics – This game used to have a lot more excitement to it, and then the Celtics went and got old. But the Cavs have been struggling on the road a bit recently, so you never know, maybe it’ll be a good one. But this is the best game on Thursday night, so watch it regardless.

Friday

Mavericks @ Hawks – Another tough game for the Mavs, but I know that this team is up for it. The Hawks are returning from a west coast swing, so there could be a little let down in Atlanta.

Bobcats @ Grizzlies – These teams are eerily similar to me. They started out slow, and they were bad. But then they caught fire and everyone around the NBA caught eye. Then, they lost, often. They are too inconsistent, but let’s see who wins this battle.

Saturday

Bucks @ Heat – Not many great games on Saturday night, so check out my wrap-ups that night to find out how the games went anyway (including this one between two teams fighting for the playoffs).

Sunday

Nuggets @ Lakers – Another great matchup on ABC (these Sunday matchups have been ridiculous!) as the rematch from last year’s Western Conference Finals takes place in LA. The Nuggets are such a tough team that no game that they win surprises me anymore.

Heat @ Magic – The Magic may be back toward their East elite, but the Heat are trying to catch some fire of their own. I wonder if the state of Florida is extra interested when these two teams play each other. I feel like they don’t really care, haha.

Teams to be High on Right Now

I am going to keep this simple and to the point. There are a few teams that I am high on now, and I don’t think any explanation is needed (additional explanation was simply read already above).

  • Heat
  • Bulls
  • Magic
  • Bucks

Who should be included, but I don’t like them:

  • Mavericks
  • Thunder
  • Nuggets
