News and Rumors: Camby to Portland
It’s been reported that Marcus Camby to the Blazers for Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw (who is expected back in March) and cash is all but a done deal. Until it is officially signed by both teams and approved by David Stern this is obviously still a rumor but Outlaw’s agent basically confirmed that both teams agreed on the deal and the final step is sending it in for the final OK.
This is a blockbuster trade! It may not have those huge blockbuster names involved but this trade could really put Portland in a better playoff position (maybe a 6 seed). With Greg Oden done for the year Juwan has stepped up to start 23 games for the ailing Blazers. If you want to win, you don’t want Howard as your starting center. Camby would come into Portland and immediately be the starting center and he would provide a great deal of help on the defensive end with blocking shots and rebounding the ball. He could also teach Aldridge how to better more of an inside presesne and a better offensive rebounder. Howard would then be the backup since Pryzbilla is also out for the year.
Let’s face, this trade doesn’t do much for the Clippers but is a HUGE deal for the Blazers and I hope the final stamp of approval comes in very soon.
Marcus Camby is averaging 7.7 ppg, 12.1 rpg and 1.9 bpg in 2009-2010.

If the Clippers do this, they deserve to be exiled with bad luck. It’s make absolutely no sense at all.
The Clippers should trade Camby for Etan Thomas’s expiring contract and a second draft pick. If works for both teams and is not much a loss for either. Then, the Thunder would have a reasonable Center, and can make a run at the 4th or 5th seed.
Here is the latest Amare Rumors http://outtatownclowns.wordpress.com/2010/02/15/amare-stoudemire-trade-update-3-0/
Thomas for Camby wouldn’t work because of contract size I believe. Camby makes a lot of money man… A LOT. The Clippers will now had 3 Eric Gordons in Eric Gordon, Al Thorton and Travis Outlaw haha.
No, I checked it Basher, it would work, but it’s irrelevant. I just wantto have the Thunder make a run at it right now.
