Awkwardddddd.. Amare Remains a Sun

After weeks of speculation and almost no shot of staying in Phoenix, Amare Stoudemire was not traded and will remain a member of the Suns. Thursday morning, it was reported that Amare had no suitors because of the lack of talent that the Suns would recieve from any other team (like the Heat) and Jamison was already acquired by the Cavs. So no one actually thought he’d be traded, until a ‘secret’ team jumped into the mix and tried to make something happen in the final minutes. As it turned out, nothing happened and so far that team hasn’t been revealed. Then again, it could have just been a ploy by the Suns to regain some interest.

Nevertheless, the Suns have their hands full because Amare was not happy and certainly was looking forward to a deal. He was not comfortable in that system anymore and being traded was a foregone conclusion. Now it’s being rumored that Suns owner Robert Sarver and GM Steve Kerr are planning a dinner with Amare and his agent to settle things down. I think that’d be hilarious to listen to. Who’s brining the Kleenex?

Boozer Rumored to Miami

Yes, the trade deadline has officially passed, but that doesn’t mean that something has yet to be reported (no, we’re not always officially the first to know this news). Apparently the Heat were in hot discussions with the Jazz on acquiring Carlos Boozer for some expiring contracts. Those contracts were rumored to be for Udonis Haslem and Quentin Richardson, but it could have included a lot more. Apparently the Wizards were involved in another potential deal that would see them give up Mike James (and surely someone else), while players like Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers, Kyle Korver, and more were potentially involved. That’s a huge trade, but it’s not likely that it has occurred.

However, definitely check back to see if this goes down – cause it’s mega huge.

Tidbits

  • The Pacers and Bobcats had a deal fall through earlier in the day in which TJ Ford and Brandon Rush would have went to the Bobcats for DJ Augustin, Gerald Henderson, and Nazr Mohammed. Obviously, the Bobcats were able to do something with the Augustin to Chicago trade, so they’re moderately satisfied.
  • Looks like the Sixers didn’t trade Iggy, Brand, or Dalembert. Sorry G!
  • The Nets did nothing to get better or worse. Grade = F. This offseason better be good.
  • The Thundercats didn’t get the big man they needed to make a splash this postseason (if they get there).
  • Ray Allen didn’t get traded – you can keep the Celtics jersey Ref!
  • Ray Allen didn’t get traded – sorry Duts! haha
