Nets Win Number 5, Wade Continues Great Play, New Look Mavs Lose, Plus More!
Nets 103, Bobcats 94
I watched this game, and the Sixers’ game at the same time. After about one quarter, I proclaimed to myself that, “The Nets are going to WIN this game.” I could just tell by the way they were playing, that they were going to hold off the Bobcats. It almost seemed like Charlotte was still on vacation, while the Nets came in hungry as if this new half of the season is a clean slate. Of the Nets’ five wins, two of them come against the Bobbies, and the Nets also weren’t down at any point in this game. Courtney Lee dropped 21 points, while Devin Harris played very aggressively adding 17 points and 9 assists. All star forward Gerald Wallace chipped in 21 for the Bobcats.
Pistons 108, Timberwolves 85
In tonight’s game that I could care less about, the Pistons used this break to come out and thrash the T’Wolves. Kevin Love had 22 points and 15 rebounds off of the bench, but the rest of his team remained silent. This game was over after the T’Wolves could only muster 13 3rd quarter points. Jonas Jerebko had 21 points for the fully staffed Pistons who had noone missing for injury. It’ll be interesting to see how this team performs for the rest of the season. A good sign is that all twelve players on the Pistons scored points tonight.
Heat 105, 76ers 78
I’m so happy with the outcome of this game! “Wait G, you’re a Sixers’ fan, right?” Yes I am, and that’s why I want them to keep losing, because wins were bringing this team closer to a pointless 8th seed, and further from a better draft pick. Iverson returned for the first time in 5 games, but it didn’t matter for Philly, as D Wade leap frogged off of his All Star MVP performance, pouring in a game high 24 points to go with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Looking at this game, let’s hope GM Ed Stefanski wises up and makes a deal….because Philly isn’t going to get better any time soon.
Chicago 118, Knicks 85
Knicks fans at this point have probably given up on any prospects of making it to the playoffs, and are now rooting for the squad to keep acquiring expiring contracts. Bulls fans however, have to be happy with this win, because they blew out a team they were supposed to beat. Derrick Rose had 29 points to go with 6 assists while six other Bulls scored double figures in the game. Dunk Champion Nate Robinson missed this game, while All Star David Lee still contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds. New York had a mere 8 fast break points in their high octane offense. That can’t be good.
Thunder 99, Mavericks 86
After the first quarter, you could see the impact of Caron Butler to the Mavericks as they held a 10 point lead over the Thunder due to great defense. After that however, the honeymoon ended and Durant (25), Green (17), Westbrook (17), and Harden (17) each poured in buckets in stifling fashion. Holding Durant to 25 is great, but allowing three guys to drop 17 is not. Dampier started over Haywood, so we’ll see if that changes anytime soon. Niether team shot particularly well, but the Thunder shot better, especially in the second quarter, where they dropped 40 points.
Suns 109, Grizzlies 95
The last team you want to face after the All Star break, are the up and down Suns. The loss now puts the Grizz at .500. Amare Stoudemire ignored the rumors and had 21 points and 10 rebounds. Steve Nash looked to pass first especially today tallying 16 assists to go with a Pepe Sanchez-like 4 points. The Suns had 58 points in the paint, to battle the interior strength of the Grizzlies. Jason Richardson had 27 points on 12 of 17 shooting. Zach Randolph had 18 points and 15 rebounds to equal out the double double of Robin Lopez who had 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Lopez brothers both got wins today! In an interview after the game, Amare Stoudemire said that “his focus is on basketball right now and he’s not letting the rumors distract him.” We can’t argue with what he said.

NETS! I got so excited after this win. Then I realized, they have reached their quota for wins this month. So I guess I won’t be seeing them win one of their four games at home in the next week. UGH!
Shooter, why were you excited? Haha.
umm, they are a game closer to not breaking the all time record for losses… do i need more reason?
I think it would be great if they broke it. You’d be apart of history as a season ticket holder! That’s good stuff right there. It’s a waste of a season if they win 10 games, but if they win 9 or less… GREAT SUCCESS!
no
As a single game ticket holder of the Nets, I wouldn’t want to be part of history.
That being said, I did witness their first win against the Bobcats, strange that 40% of their wins come from one team…
