Nets’ 6th Win Embarasses Celtics, Grizz Big 3 Rock Garden, Jazz Score Mad Points
Nets 104, Celtics 96
It’s obvious that the Nets win over the Celtics has yet to sink in for me, because I am still waiting for them to blow the game as they have so many times this year. Note to self: The game is over!
Here’s the lowdown on this game… It was a 1pm matinee and there was plenty of college basketball on TV. Going into the game, I knew the Nets would lose because they were playing the Celtics, in Boston nonetheless. Butttttttt, I decided to watch anyway. The Nets were down 12-2 early on and they looked like they hadn’t even woken up yet.
But that’s when the Celtics hit the snooze button. The C’s were incredibly sloppy and missed an incredible amount of threes. They are clearly not right and need a wakeup call before they screw up what they want to accomplish. Meanwhile, the Nets continued to battle and they hit many big jumpers and free throws along the way.
So the Nets pick up win number six on the season. Just four more wins and they fail to break the worst record ever! Here’s a tip: win on Sunday against the Wizards at home. Thanks.
Grizzlies 120, Knicks 109
I’ll tell you exactly what will prevent the Grizzlies from losing anymore games this season, production like this:
Zach Randolph - 31 points, 25 rebounds (in his return to MSG)
Marc Gasol - 25 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists
Rudy Gay - 27 points, 5 rebounds
Sorry Knicks fans, Tracy McGrady left this game early with a sore knee. I guess those injury issues have traveled with T-Mac, despite all the rest he got in Houston. He played 15 minutes and have zero points.
Blazers 110, T’Wolves 91
This is quite a road trip for the Trail Blazers as they trail blaze through the east and Midwest. Saturday’s stop: Minnesota. The Blazers took care of the Wolves with a career high 31 points from Nicolas Batum. Portland has now won 12 straight games over Minnesota, and they have outscored the Wolves by 93 points in the four games this year.
Pacers 100, Bulls 90
If the Chicago Bulls want to make the playoffs (and have any chance of scaring anyone) they must win games like these. Oh, too bad, they lost. The Pacers were led by Danny Granger’s 30 points and eight rebounds. Derrick Rose had 27 points for the Bulls. I’m sorry, but the Bulls are just too dang inconsistent for me. At least the Nets are consistently bad. There’s not false hope there.
Jazz 133, Rockets 110
If you like points, then this was the game for you! The Jazz Men were led by an incredible game by PG Deron Williams, who had 35 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds. He shot 13-17 from the field, including 4-4 from three-point range. New Rocket Kevin Martin scored 32 points in his most productive game in Houston. This is some incredible scoring by the Jazz, who have the pieces to do this every night, but I’d prefer their focus to be on defense as well.
Bucks 94, Heat 71
Dwyane Wade, where art thou?
The Heat need him more than ever as they prove unable to score and win without him. Miami had three quarters of scoring less than 20 points (18 – 1st quarter, 12 – 3rd quarter, 14 – 4th quarter), yikes! I’m starting to ponder whether the Heat are going to lose D-Wade. Could he bolt despite the fact that they’ll have money to spend this offseason? As for Milwaukee, they have now won six straight games with the same formula – passing and defense. This team is doing it as good as anyone now!
Warriors 95, Pistons 88
Everytime I do wrap-ups, it seems that there’s one game that I could always care less about. That is based on the teams playing, when they play, and/or the final. In this case, it’s the Pistons playing on the west coast. That prevents me from caring about this game at all. But I did give you the score, so you can’t complain.
