Jazz Stay Hott, Lakers Win Without Kobe, Roy Makes Return
Jazz 104, Rockets 95
The Jazz continue to impress out of the gates for the last third of the season. They didn’t waver over the 4 day break and they came out shooting 50% from the field on the Rockets’ home floor. Deron Williams, Skills Challenge runner up, dished out 15 assists while Paul Millsap came off the bench to drop 20 and snag 12 boards (he must have read my underachieving post).
The Rockets continue to slide and are now 27-25. Maybe once they trade McGrady and get some new pieces it can jump start this team to victories again. Until then, maybe a playoff spot in 2010-2011 is more likely.
Clown of the game: Aaron Brooks. 5-17 shooting with 5 turnovers.
Blazers 109, Clippers 87
Camby didn’t play for the Blazers tonight but his new team was victorious by a large margin. Everyone in Portland greeted him with open arms and I’m sure they are excited to see him suit up. Despite Roy only scoring 4 points, Aldridge and Webster went off for 22 and 28 points respectively, including 7-11 from 3-point range for Webster. If the team can continue it’s high level of play, plus the addition of a legit center I can see them taking a first round playoff series despite being a 5-8 seeded team.
Clown of the game: Chris Kaman. Well he WAS an all-star but Kaveman didn’t look like it tonight. He had 4 points, 8 rebounds and 7 turn overs… ouch.
Celtics 95, Kings 92
Free throws was the reason the Kings lost this one. They missed 11 free throws to just 4 by the Celtics. In every other aspect of the game the Kings won out. They outshot the Celtics, outrebounded them, had more assists as well as blocks and had less turnovers! The Celtics starters were all in the negative when it came to +/- last night, it was their lame bench who did in the Kings. Wallace probably had his best game of the year with 17 points, what a joke he is. Tryeke Evans almost posted a triple-double with 17 points-11 rebounds-7 assists.
Clown of the game: Kevin Martin. 3-10 shooting and another loss to his resume.
Lakers 104, Warriors 94
No Kobe? No problem, yet again. Shannon Brown made up for his crappy dunk contest appearance with a 27 point night with Kobe out of the lineup. It was a great showing for the entire Lakers team; Andrew Bynum poured in 21 points as well. Lamar Odom had a great night on the boards with 18 and Derek Fisher, Ron Artest and Paiu Gasol were all in double digits in the box score.
Clown of the game: Stephen Curry. He was 2 assists shy of another triple-double but he was 5-21 shooting including 1-10 from behind the arc.

Basher, you can’t call someone clown of the game if they were 2 assists shy of a triple double.
I can, and I did. If he didn’t shoot like a clown they would have had a shot to win. I give him a free pass though, he is a rookie trying to carry this team.
