Jamison Spoils Jamison’s Debut, Nuggets…Oye, Bucks Hit Stride After Trade
Bobcats 110, Cavaliers 93
Where do I start?
First off, the Cavs lost their second straight game after winning 13 in a row. Secondly, Antawn Jamison made his highly anticipated debut for Cleveland – and he stunk, big time.
Jamison came off the bench to shoot 0-12 from the field. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, zero field goals in 12 attempts! He had five shots BLOCKED and two of his shots were AIRBALLS! His only two points came with 41 seconds left when he hit two free throws. I’m sure he’ll make up for this shortly, but it’s just very strange to see this kind of thing after such a big trade.
What cracks me up about this win for the Bobcats is that they lost three days ago at home to the lowly Nets and then go and beat the best team in the NBA by 17. Some things you just can’t figure out.
New Bobbycat Tyrus Thomas, traded from the Bulls yesterday, picked up nine points and 12 boards. I guys they’re going to athleticism here because I feel like he is the same as Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson, but I’m not an NBA exec – yet.
Heat 100, Grizzlies 87 (2OT)
The Miami Heat may be on to something here. Not too long ago, the Heat were losing games left and right and Dwyane Wade was rumored to be contemplating his future with the team. He didn’t think he had the supporting cast to make a move in the East, and compete in the future.
Well, I’d say he’s starting to be impressed.
Wade left Wednesday’s game in NJ in the 1st quarter with a calf strain and sat out this game. BUT the Heat won their 5th straight game! Not to mention, they did it by absolutely dominating the second overtime. They outscored the Grizzlies 15-2 in the extra extra quarter. Michael Beasley led the way with a career-high 30 points.
Wizards 107, Nuggets 97
Hahahahahah! The Wizards, the team that traded everyone of any value, won AGAIN despite a depleted roster! I love it!
This is the thing that frustrates me about the Nuggets (not that I’m a fan). They have a gut-renching win in Cleveland on Thursday, and one night later they have an immensely disappointing loss in DC. I know winning back-to-back nights on the road is really tough in the NBA. But talk about a letdown…
Sixers 106, Spurs 94
For the 10th straight time in Philly, the Sixers beat the Spurs. Non-traded Andre Iguodala had 20 points, nine boards, and eight assists. Non-traded Elton Brand had 18 points and 7 rebounds. Non-traded Samuel Dalembert had eight points and seven rebounds. The Spurs haven’t won in Philadelphia since the 1999-2000 season… can you believe that?
Now what do you do G? Your Sixers started winning before the trade deadline which prevented any necessary moves to be made. But now they’re winning…so are you going to start getting excited??
Bucks 91, Pistons 85
I know this isn’t much a big win for the Bucks, but I think that this team has a focus for the rest of the year after making some deals the last couple of days. Newly acquired John Salmons scored 19 points, and hit the clinching three-pointer with 16 seconds left to put the Bucks up four. No, they won’t do much if they do make the playoffs, but they have a core to build off of for some years in Jennings, Bogut, Ilyasova, and Salmons. Not to mention, Carlos Delfino is underrated.
Raptors 106, Nets 89
I decided not to go to this game. I even tried to give my tickets away, and couldn’t. Shocker. As it turned out, I’m ecstatic that I didn’t go. The Nets weren’t in it at all and I wouldn’t even been able to see the Raptors best player. Chris Bosh did not play due to an ankle injury. Boy, I really dodged a bullet here.
I can sum this game up with one stat: Rasho Nesterovic scored 16 points. Yeah….
