Hornets Back in Charlotte, Bulls Back in Win Column, LeBron Back in 40s
Hornets 104, Bobcats 99
I’m starting to think the Bobcats are taking their winning ways for granted. That sounded really lame, but seriously, after being up by 10 points at the half the Hornets outscored Charlotte 36-21 in the third quarter.
Wait a second – Charlotte? Remember a team that used to play there?
Grandma-ma does.
Wow, I really don’t know where I’m going with this.
Back to the game…. The Hornets won for the first time since Chris Paul was sidelined with his knee surgery. Darren Collison led the way for the Stingers with 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, not a bad replacement.
Bulls 95, Heat 91
The Bulls were fading, again, after dropping their last three games, but they were able to end that streak, despite missing Joakim Noah to injury and Tyrus Thomas to suspension.
Luol Deng led the Bulls with 25 points and Derrick Rose added 24. John Salmons had a very nice game with 15 points and five assists off the bench. That’s definitely the kind of production the Bulls are looking for out of Salmons, not taking 20 shots a game.
Meanwhile, the Heat have now lost five straight games, their longest losing streak of the season. Jermaine O’Neal had 24 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks, obviously taking advantage of Noah not being in the paint.
Mario Chalmers missed his fifth straight game as the Heat lost their fifth straight game… coincidence. Well, yes. Kansas!
Timberwolves 109, Grizzlies 102
Where do I start with this game? Is it the resurgence of the T’Wolves or the demise of the Grizzlies?
Well let’s cover both… First off, the T’Wolves are killing it recently. On Saturday night, the team was firing from all cylinders. Ryan Gomes had 26 points, Al Jefferson had 23, Ramon Sessions dropped 19, Corey Brewer scored 17, and Kevin Love totaled 12. That’s solid production from everyone.
Now for the Grizzlies. They have certainly hit a wall. They have to remember what got them here. There guards have to relax more and Zach Randolph has to step his game back up. He’s been in a little bit of a rut since he made the all-star team.
Please! Memphis! I can’t take it anymore! You have to win again! – Especially with the all-star break coming next week.
Cleveland LeBrons 113, Knicks 106
The owner of the Cleveland LeBrons, LeBron James, absolutely, positively, 100% destroyed the first half on Saturday night with 35 points, a franchise record. In addition to that, he scored 24 straight points en route to his 47 total points.
Okay, enough about Mr. James, because I don’t really like talking about him and that first paragraph kind of made me sick.
Cleveland picked up their 11th straight win by holding off a late Knicks rally. Too bad the Knickerbockers gave up 44 freakin points in the first half.
My god this team is bad, but there may be one team that is worse……………
Pistons 99, Nets 92
“The Nets are so bad.”
“How bad are they?”
“The Nets are so bad, that when they play a team that struggles to score points they allow 99 of them.”
That was my lame Johnny Carson joke of the night. It seems the hrbl-ness of the Nets has rubbed off on me too because that joke was so awful. That’s the kind of focus that a Nets-Pistons game has on me this year.
Seriously though, if they can’t win at Detroit, then where will the Nets gain anymore road wins?
Hawks @ Wizards – PPD (snow)
I wish the Nets could have been snowed out instead.
