Close Games Galore as Cavs, Bulls, and Rockets Sneak Wins, plus more!
Ladies and Gents, you’re all in for a treat, as Bud Light has unofficially sponsored this post. Let’s begin.
Cavaliers 126, Raptors 118 (OT)
LeBron. LeBron. LeBron. LeBron was shaken up, taking a knee to the quad early in this game, but he recovered well, pouring in 36 points to go along with 6 rebounds, and 9 assists. Toronto was gutsy in this game though, playing without superstar Chris Bosh. Andrea Bargnani and Jarrett Jack each had 24, but at the end of the day, the Cavs, playing without LeShaq, won this in OT. This was one of those games, where you knew one team was going to crush the other in OT, and that was Cleveland. Mo Illiams hit two threes to start OT, and it was over from there. Holla.
Bulls 115, Blazers 111 (OT)
LaMarcus Aldridge did all he could, scoring 32 points with 7 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as Derrick Rose and Luol Deng combined for 56 points in this overtime win. Rose and Deng carried this time all through regulation, but finally the other guys stepped up and got their Scottie Pippen on, helping seal the victory for the Bulls. Back in the 90′s when I was a Bulls fan, they had the hottest cheerleaders. They were called, the Love-a-Bulls. Mmmm.
Rockets 109, Spurs 104
Why do girls go after toolbags? I have no idea, but what I do know is that the Spurs can’t find consistency. The new look Rockets blasted San Antone, as Kevin Martin, Aaron Brooks, and Luis Scola combined for 94 points. This is typical for the Golden State
Warriors–having three players score that many points. But when other teams do this, like the Rockets, this usually creates a win. This was Kevin Martin’s breakout game for his new team, as he scored a solid 33 points. The Spurs were without Tony Parker, and it was obvious in this game that they are becoming frustrated with their play.
Hornets 100, Magic 93
David West had 40 points and 10 rebounds. Aaron Gray put the smack down on Dwight Howard. West’s career game was all set to go to waste until the Hornets wised up and put the big bodied Gray on Howard, and said “attack!” Emeka Okafor is known for his defense but Dwight was having his way until the third quarter. The third quarter is coincidentally when Gray entered the game, and put his size to work. That’s what she said.
Kings 103, Jazz 99
It’s 2:56 am. Let’s see if I can speed write and be done by 3 AM. This game was full of playoff atmosphere. The downside is that only one of these teams will likely participate in the
playoffs. Regardless, the Kings, lead behind their two-headed rookie monster of Tyreke Evans and Omri Casspi were big down the stretch, coming away with the victory. Beno Udrih dropped a season high 25 points, and ‘Reke had 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Damn. Looks like it’s him vs. Steph Curry for ROY.
Lakers 99, Sixers 90
Man. It’s 3 AM already. Missed my cuttoff. I wish I had missed this game, but I watched it on my phone. Don’t worry Sixer fans. It was the typical “control the whole game until the last 4 minutes” method that we have become so accustomed to by Philly. At least Iggy Pop had a redonkulous alley-oop dunk. Pau Gasol had 23 points and 11 rebounds. Andrew Bynum had 20 points and 13 rebounds. Elton Brand played 31 minutes and had 2 points and 4 rebounds. Sigh.

I have given this post a five-star rating. I’m hoping Bud Light sponsors one of my Friday night posts soon, haha.
