Rumor Mill: Crittenton Points Gun?, Possible Trade Suspects, and more…

Welcome, welcome, to my first crack at tackling some NBA rumors.
Crittenton Loaded, and Chambered his Gun?
It is being reported by the Washington Post today, that Jarvaris Crittenton, the other member of the duel in this Gilbert Arenas “gun saga,” not only pulled out his own gun, but also loaded and chambered it. Crittenton and his agent deny this report, and hopefully for his sake, this isn’t true. If it is, Crittenton would not only face ridiculous punishment from the NBA, but possible jail time.
Reports have also surfaced that Arenas initially didn’t mention Crittenton at first, in order to protect him. As the allegations grew more serious however, more truth to the situation has come out.
Trade bait:
- The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly heavily interested in trading for Antawn Jamison. Jamison is a tall player, who is an excellent shooter. He brings a high basketball IQ, but also a high age (33) and salary ($28 million over the next 2 years).
- T.J. Ford is expected to be traded from the Pacers as he continues to see limited playing time. He’s worth 8.5 million this year, and will likely accept his player option of 8.5 million for next year. On the bright side, Ford has said that he will not become a distraction, or demand a trade.
- It is being speculated that Hornet’s coach Jeff Bower, is playing guard Morris Peterson more, in hopes to add to his trade value before the deadline.
Derrick Rose to Defend Skills Challenge during All Star Weekend
In one of the more under-rated and under-appreciated events of NBA’s All Star Weekend, Derrick Rose will return to defend his challenge. The other participants have yet to be named.
Joe Johnson to the Nets this Summer?
JJ was asked if a team’s play this year, would have an affect on his signing. The example used in the question was about Shooter’s 3-32 Nets. To no-ones surprise, a teams’ play obviously mattered as Johnson was quoted by saying, “It matters…A lot comes into play. Nobody wants to go to a tough team. But you’ve got to keep everybody in consideration.” (Source: NBA Fanhouse)
