Rookie Rankings: Week 11
Each week NBAtoday.net compiles a list of the top 10 rookies in the NBA. Leave a comment on your top rookies of the 2009-2010 season!
New Additions This Week: Ty Lawson, AJ Price
1. Tyreke Evans – ’Reke is beginning to hit that rookie wall and is struggling with his shot and it’s showing with the Kings performances.
2. Stephen Curry –If the Warriors trade Ellis this year, look for Curry to drop 18 a game by the end of the year, it could happen.
3. Omri Casspi– Casspi continues to impress and he’s beginning to rebound the ball as well as shoot 3′s.
4. Brandon Jennings– On Twitter today, Brandon Jennings claimed he was better than Jordan Farmar (apparently they were beefing). I think it’s safe to say he is better than Farmar, now let’s hope he can lead his team to some victories since they are slipping out of the playoff race.
5. James Harden – Harden has been struggling with his shot lately but is still putting up around 10 a game and he is their #1 scorer off that Thunder bench and a vital part of their offense.
6. Taj Gibson – Gibson compliments Noah and Thomas nicely but there just isn’t enough PT for all 3 of them, good news is Thomas is likely the odd man out.
7. Jonny Flynn – I hate the Syracuse Orange.
8. Ty Lawson - Lawson is back on the rookie rankings after 3 straight 20+ point games and 7+ assists as well. If Karl gives him the minutes he was getting in the beginning of the year he should be top 5 next week.
9. AJ Price – Price is averaging 20 mpg this month and has scored double digits in 4 of 6 games.
10. Tyler Hansbrough – He’s finally back in action and play just 12 minutes in his last game back and had 4 points and 7 rebounds.

Alright Basher, way to give my boy AJ Price some love.
I thought this list was cumulative for the season. AJ Price has only played in 19 games (presumably, he was busy stealing laptops and other items and not able to attend the other games). This list if a farce to have price on here. Let him at least play 50% of his own team’s games first. Oh yeah, he is 18th among rookies in scoring and 11th in assists.
Well Mike, after a comment like that, do you have anyone else in mind, because quite frankly, stealing laptops has nothing to do with putting the ball in the hoop, which is clearly what he is doing now
Ref, YOU’RE BOY! Typically my first 5 picks on the rookie rankings are the 5 best… the next 5 are usually who is hot at the time. It’s a combo list basically, very unlike the power rankings for teams that the Ref does.
Maybe I will put in a disclaimer saying this is a hybrid list. He’s only played 19 games but he’s playing on a consistent basis now and he had a very good week.
Sure I could leave guys like Jerebko and Anderson on there, maybe even Maynor but they aren’t significant. Right now Price is giving significant minutes (for an insignificant team).
Leave your response!
