Rookie Rankings: Week 10

7 January 2010 145 views No Comment

Each week (really late this week, sorry) NBAtoday.net compiles a list of the top 10 rookies in the NBA. Leave a comment on your top rookies of the 2009-2010 season!

1. Tyreke Evans – Evans is recovering from a sprain ankle but still managed 27 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.
2. Stephen Curry –Curry beginning to find his stroke from 3-point land, he was 6-6 the other night in a tough loss.
3. Omri Casspi – HUGE jump for “Big Israel” this week afte 4 straight 20+ point games and a career high of 24 in that span.
4. Brandon Jennings – Jennings has to get over the hump.  I don’t mean get over the hump and score 25 just take care of the ball and shoot a higher percentage.
5. James Harden – With Maynor now the backup PG, Harden is playing his more natural SG position and stay consistant with his usual 8-10 ppg.
6. Taj Gibson – Gibson is still starting despite Thomas’ return; last week had had games of 12 and 10 boards.  He is also averaging 1 bpg this season.
7. Jonny Flynn – Flynn needs to find a jumper on a more consistant basis; after missing a game earlier in the week he shot 1-11 on Wednesday night.
8. DuJuan Blair – Blair is shooting an amazing 57% from the fielder but a pathetic 49% from the CHARITY stripe.
9. Jonas Jerebko – With Rip Hamilton and Prince back in action Jerebko is seeing a signficant decrease in playing time.  It seems like his days on the Rookie Rankings is coming to an end.
10. Tyler Hansbrough – Hansbrough hasn’t played since December 27th but these are power rankings and I still think he deserves recognition.
