I am a full subscriber to this podcast, and I can’t wait to listen to the new editions each week!

  • The Basher said:

Shout outs to ME for being in first place at the halfway mark! My SWAGGER is on 1000%.

I’d TOTALLY take Mo Williams over Derek Rose! But I think Joe Johnson is more deserving than anyone who didn’t make it as a starter.

    Mavs @ Suns – Suns
    Celtics @ Hawks – Hawks
    Nuggets @ Thunder – Nuggets
    Grizzlies @ Spurs – Spurs

    Knicks….HAHAHAHAHAHA.

G’s hypothetical: Chris Paul/Tyson Chandler and in a close second J Kidd/Kenyon Martin. BAHAHA. JOKE. On the real, Shaq/Kobe.

Great show, thanks for all the shout outs haha.

  • The Ref said:

It’s retardedly retarded that you both pick Mo Williams over Derrick Rose. It’s so retarded that it’s making me retarded. I would love to see you both back up your argument. You can’t because it’s RETARDED.

  • Shooter said:

    Very PC Ref…

Today, who would the Cavs be better with…TODAY?

    Mo Williams.

Derrick Rose is not experienced and would end up screwing LeBron and the Cavs (not that I would be opposed to that…).

  • The Ref said:

Interesting Point Shooter. That’s why Mo Williams screwed the Cavs in the playoffs last year and Derrick Rose almost led the Bulls over the Celtics as a 7 seed.

    Case Closed

  • The Basher said:

Haha, my argument was to see The Ref get fired up. I wouldn’t choose either of them. Derrick Rose is the only scorer on the team and he makes he teammates better just as much as Mo Williams. It’s a close call and does NOT favor Rose as much as the Ref is playing this out to be.

Rose and Williams may not even crack the top 10 in PG in the league.

Paul, Nash, Rondo, Williams, Parker, Billups, Ellis, Davis just to name a few better. I rather even have Westbrook as PG than Rose.

Just because you love Rose doesn’t make him better than all these guys.

  • Shooter said:

Who went farther in the playoffs last year? The Bulls or the Cavs?

I can’t believe you are firing me up to defend anything on the Cavs…

  • The Ref said:

It’s ironic that you all think I love Derrick Rose. I don’t. I don’t even like him. Never did. Never will.

I just know talent when I see it, and both of you (Basher and Shooter) are blinded of that fact simply because you hate John Calipari.

  • Shooter said:

I never said he wasn’t talented… in the All-Star Game for 2016 I will most likely pick Derrick Rose over Mo Williams.

    But not THIS year!

  • The Ref said:

Shooter, exclaiming Mo Williams is better than Derrick Rose is stating he doesn’t have talent. You can’t compare them. It’s not even close.

Please Check the numbers. That’s all I ask, and your statement about who went further in the playoffs last year is so futile.

This is my last point, if Rose and Mo switched rosters, would the Bulls even be in the playoffs?

How far do you think the Cavs would have went or could go?

  • The Basher said:

What stats are you talking about Ref? Their stats are nearly identical…except for their record that is. Last I checked the Cavs is much better.

  • The Ref said:

Really Basher, there identical. Please Check again. Rose averages more points, more assists, more rebounds, and shoots at a higher percentage.

What the hell were you looking at? And please, answer my questions. If you can answer them with valid points then I will leave this alone. Neither of you have said anything substantial to make me even think otherwise.

  • G said:

I believe the cavs would be worse with rose instead of Williams just as much as the bulls would be worse without rose.

  • Idiot_Sports_Talk said:

I got Rose over Mo any day of the week… When Mo (yes he is better now) was with the Bucks, I don’t remember him carrying them anywhere. And building a house (brick after brick WIDE OPEN) against the magic last season. Rose is the only Offensive force on the Bulls, he got ZERO!!!!!! low post help on the bulls. I just want you guys to know im a Mavs fan and im a BIG TIME KNICKS HATER LOL…

  • G said:

If I had to a choose a player on my team, then I’d definitely take Rose. His game is going to grow in more ways than one, but I look at the All-Star debate like this:

The best teams in the league typically get 2 players, and even three in the case of the Pistons a few years back. The Cavs are the best team in the league right now. I know LeBron is the headliner on that team, but Mo Williams is the second, very important fiddle.

Fortunately for this debate, Mo isn’t going to be an option anyway because he’s hurt, however I strongly doubt Rose makes it. As @nweiser said on twitter, I might even venture to take Jennings over Rose in the All-Star game!

  • The Basher said:

Ok I said there stats are SIMILAR not the exact same. Rose scores 3 more ppg due to the fact he is the only one on the team who can create for himself. Cavs have this guy LeBron James who does all that. Other than that they are percentage points away in rebounds assists and shots. Its not all based on stats.

As G pointed out the Cavs are the best team, you don’t become the best team due to 1 player, it’s a TEAM that makes you good. Mo Williams is part of that and for that I’d take him over Rose.

Personally I don’t think either of them are all stars AT ALL. I don’t like either of their games, I think they are both semi-selfish players who play a little too much 1 on 1. Yeah Rose averages 6 assists a game but what is he doing to make Salmons, Deng and company better? Mo Williams doesn’t really make anyone better because LeBron does all that.

I’d take Rondo over both of them right now. If I were given those 3 to start a franchise with, I’d take Rondo, no questions asked.

  • G said:

Listening back to the podcast, The Ref made a great point in stating who is even out there for the East to choose. Off the top of my head, I came up with these names from Eastern Conference teams for PG’s

    Jamal Crawford
    Raymond Felton
    Derrick Rose
    Brandon Jennings
    Jameer Nelson
    Rajon Rondo
    Mo Williams
    Rodney Stuckey

That being said, after Iverson, I’d go with Rondo and Crawford. Crawford isn’t a true point guard, but he fills that role at times, so why not?lol

  • The Ref said:

    Ok, that’s all I wanted.

    This is a fun discussion.

We obvisously disagree, but I really want everyone to know that my view point on Rose is absolutely not biased, at all. It is simply what I see and foretell in the near future. And to illustrate how strongly I think Rose will be, here is my top five point guards that I would want to start a franchise with right now.

    Chris Paul
    Deron Williams
    Derrick Rose
    Rajon Rondo
    Russell Westbrook

  • The Basher said:

Rose over Jennings and/or Evans? No way. Also is there any qualifications to starting a franchise with a PG? Just active players? I mean Paul’s been in the league for awhile now so if it’s a current active player I’d take, in this order:

    Kidd
    Paul
    Nash
    Evans
    Rondo

  • The Ref said:

Kidd is 36 or 37, he will be down in 2 years, MAX.

Nash is 35, he will be down in 2 years, MAX.

Evans is not a true point guard. He will be moved to shooting gurad once the Kings make some moves. That’s the reason I didn’t put him on the list.

I laugh at you picking Jennings over Rose, hahaha. Really, you crack me up Basher. Jennings shooting percentage is terrible and here is the most UNDERRATED thing about Derrick Rose, he is a terrific defender, where Brandon Jennings is not.

  • The Basher said:

That’s why I ask what the qualifications are. I’d choose Nash and Kidd if we could go back to when they were 22-23 years old. Nash hasn’t declined yet, he will play more than 2 years.

Tyreke Evans is absolutely a true point guard, are you joking? Have you ever watched him play? He gets to the lane like nobody else. He will be a great PG in this league considering he is 6’5″ and he will NOT be a SG. His jumper isn’t good enough to be a SG.

Jennings shooting percentage is terrible… in his rookie year. You act like he won’t get better. He defense isn’t bad either, his quickness (he’s quicker than Rose) will make up for it if he gets beat on the dribble.

I get that you like Rose but you keep downplaying their other guards like they aren’t even close to Rose’s level when some are even better than him!

  • The Ref said:

I 1 Look at what I wrote above, the instructions are self explanatory. Why would a make a list for guys who were 22-23 12 years ago.

    2. We will see about Tyreke. Fair assessment.

    3. I have only downplayed Brandon Jennings and Mo Williams. Relax with your comments.

  • Shooter said:

Seriously, how did this discussion get into an all-time best PG convo hahaha

  • The Ref said:

LMAO, I think after the 15th comment, Basher and I decided to make this the message board without discussing it amongst ourselves.

  • The Basher said:

Haha, agreed. This was heated, I’m all out of breath. I’m done.
