Grizzlibears Hold Off Thundercats, Rockets Blast Spurs, and More!!!
Ahem. Ladies and Gentleman, with tonight’s Grizzlybear victory, I clinched my first 3-0 prediction week for the podcast. In addition to that great news, the Sixers won, wally womping the Mavericks. With that being said, I’m now predicting that I will never go worse than 2-1 in my predictions, and the Philadelphia 76ers will go on a five game winning streak! Trust me…I’m hot!
Pacers 105, Pistons 93
Wow. This has to be one of the worst matchups this year. By the graces of God-knows-who, the Pistons were amidst a three game winning streak entering this game. They obviously didn’t get the league-wide memo that the Indiana Pace Cars are garbage, as Danny Granger poured in 25 points, while Brandon Rush (who I only thought was good in NBA 2k10) had 19. Rodney Stuckey had a weak 10 points, as Detroit now heads back to reality.
Grizzlies 86, Thunder 84
Ah yes, our game of the night. The Grizzlybears won this game behind a Rudy Gay 20 footer with a second to go that was luscious after Marc Gasol punked Jeff Green for the basketball, straight ripping it from his hands.. Kevin Durant had a nice 30 points and 8 rebounds, while both Rudy Gay and Z-Bo had 25 points each. As I predicted, Zach Bo outscored every Thundercat PF or C on their roster…and that was the difference.
Hornets 96, T’Wolves 94
The Hornets have to be the most inconsistent team in the NBA from game to game. One night they can knock off the best team in the league, and then lose to a group of Rec leage all-stars the next. Tonight, James Posey had another game saving layup to put the pesky Timberwolves away. David West left the game after rolling his ankle, and Peja Sto-suck-avic was 1 of 8 from the field. Al Jefferson had 15 points and 13 rebounds, while CP3 had 23 points and 9 assistasiiszz.
Rockets 116, Spurs 109
Mighty Houston headed to San Antone and took it right to the Spurs. The Big Fundamental scored is 20,000th point en route to a crisp 25 points and 14 rebounds. The difference here was little Aaron Brooks and little Kyle Lowry who didn’t play little at all. Each had 23 points and they combined for 16 assists. Lowry, off the bench, coupled with bench mate Carl Landry, who had 19 points, were mismatch problems for the Spiked Heel Covers allll night. I’m sure Coach Popp was none too pleased.
Bulls 115, Suns 104
It’s crazy because with all the talk of Vinny Del Negro getting fired a while back, the Bulls move closer to .500 with a legit win over the Phoenix Suns in Phoenix. Derrick Rose was able to play the preeminent star point guard in the league (Steve Nash), and he didn’t slack as Rose had 32 points. Nash meanwhile was held to 8 points and 7 assists. Chicago has been riding Rose all year, but it was nice to see Luol Deng knock in 23 points and pull down 6 rebounds. Deng is a great player, but hasn’t been the consistent score Chicago needs. Regardless, the Bulls got a huge win, and it’ll be even more interesting to see if this can start a winning streak for Chicago.
Warriors 111, Nets 79
I have no idea why Shooter wouldn’t want to recap this game! Sike! The Nets lost again, and still have three wins. Stephen Curry had 32 points and 7 assists, while Corey Maggette had 29 points. It has been said by many, that “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
All of the words that go with this picture are synonyms for the word: Loser

Even though I am upset the Thunder lost, it was a great game. I look forward to watching these two teams play in the future. So many young guns, so many personalities, and you know what’s great, both of these teams will be competeing for the 7th & 8th seed for the entire season. They face off against each other for the last game of the year. Can you imagine if they were tied for 8th spot going in? Awesome.
PS I can’t stand that G went 3-0 this week. My weekend is ruined.
LOL at the Nets…at least they are still on pace to win 8 games.
