It’s been a tough year for Glen Davis – completely at the fault of himself. But there is still one other thing that could make the year worse for him: a nickname that is worse than ‘Big Baby’.

To start the season, Davis missed the first 27 games due to an off-court fight that led people to question his focus and maturity. How he could jeopardize his season and career by being involved in a fight is beyond me, but I had certainly hoped he had learned his lesson. Looks like he didn’t though, because just last week in Detroit, he couldn’t control his emotions as he shouted an obscene phrase to a heckler.

Now, Davis is pleading for a change to his nickname of Big Baby to anything else. He wants to change the negative connotation that goes with that nickname, but who could blame him.

Honestly, I never really understood how he got that nickname and how it has stayed. I figured he was just a fat kid who complained a lot. Turns out it was because he was just bigger than other kids when he was little and the name stayed. Hmmmmmm………..actually I like to think that the complaining fat kid idea still applies.

When Davis told reporters that he wanted to change his nickname, he had no ideas for a new one, but a reporter gave him a possible replacement: ‘Uno Uno’, inspired by Chad Ochocinco. Yeah, let’s use Chad Ochocinco as a role model for maturity – that sounds like a GREAT idea.

He honestly sounded like a little kid when the Uno Uno idea was presented to him. Maturity?

I’m not sure if anyone noticed when Davis said, “Somebody get a blog goin’ for what nickname I should have…”. Well, I heard him say that, and since I am a part of this blog I figure I would give him some ideas on my blog to have him be known as.

Glen “Focus on your career” Davis

Glen “Big keep your mouth shut” Davis (in honor of Doc Rivers)

Glen “I’m the most overrated thing to come out of Louisiana, ever” Davis

Glen “Ochocinco” Davis (in reference to the amount of times he complains in a month)

Glen “Big Baby” Davis (still applies, haha)
