Iverson, after much contemplation and tribulation, finds himself back where it all began, with so much history, so much love, so much hate but only one Answer. He is the heart and soul of Philadelphia. Not since Isiah Thomas, have we seen a player alter our perception of the importance of height with the focus put on quickness, desire, and most importantly, heart. Fate as it seems has brought him back to his old team, but a team in need nonetheless. He is expected to right the ship. The Sixers are 5-15 and have yet to find an identity since the opening week where every one was healthy and playing well (besides Elton Brand). Now, Iverson who was on the verge of retiring with the entire NBA turning it’s back, can do it once again. He can prove the skeptics wrong… once again. He can bring excitement to Philly and playoff hopes…once again.

Why do you think everybody loves Brandon Jennings? We find a glimmer of hope. We find that size doesn’t matter. That a man isn’t measured from his physical capabilities, but the depth of one. Iverson epitomizes this in his entity. His love is always strong, almost everlasting, and that’s what makes him so special.

He is an icon, whether you love him or hate him. He epitomizes basketball in the City of Philadelphia, a beloved figure. Now he attempts to end what he started. A saga that can’t go on without it’s main hero and villain.

Enjoy him NBA fans, you may never see a player like this again.

This is The Ref signaling I’m out until next time and remember: We miss calls, you miss layups.
